S. Just read your post om PB parsley. River food is well established and been around over ten years doing fresh organic veg boxes, not sure if that's the same thing. A friend of mine was thinking of starting up a similar thing then too but wisely decided to go for sourdough, coffee, patisserie instead, which is doing really well but not listed. Ii'm pretty Luke warm on IPO. I think they are band waggoning now on the recent successes of Moopig, Air bnb and CLX, all of which have very rich valuations to put it mildly. I guess you have to look at each in its own rite but that market is way too bullish for me. Placings are another matter but mostly not worth the hassle as you can buy at or below any way. Kmk is just about at its placing price and would not be in the least surprised to see it lower after all the excitement and no profit in sight for another couple of years. Beg was ok but the allocation was so low I ended buying on the open market at 1p premium with a load more than I intended or would have been entitled to. I don't know why people get so upset about not getting placings accepted. In 90% of cases over the last 12 months you could buy cheaper. RTN is one of few exceptions. Gawd knows why its one of the worst businesses only being propped up by the tax payer.

S. Just checked on Stockopedia. This is where I get suspicious of how often they update their information. Thy have short screen on AXS since it was about 86p! Which would have lost a load of money and none of the information seems to give it credit for what is actually happening. I notice a few of the lucky ones who got when we should have are top slicing, but fundamentally holding on. To be fair it has only really got its act together this year, after years of placings and doldrums . Well timed to coincide with unlock down. Product clearly a hit with bespoke builders and architects. Will watch for a retrace. That didn't really go well last time lol.

High Nic-Bris. Welcome the clan! I have subscribe to using Stockopedia for nearly a year. It covers the entire global stock markets. Thats expensive over 1k annually or you can select different countries. I just the uk site. Its about £200 annually which is much value than what you get for the paid version of LSE. You don't get level two. If you are a day trader I guess you might need level2' Not impressed with the version here. Its totally misleading and doesn't often work properly. Plenty of free sites to subscribe to like citywire, Oil Price has useful articles. One thing worth cautioning is herd mentality. There are unscrupulous posters on all free chat forums and boiler rooms spreading misinformation to manipulate stock prices. Its the same with magazine tips and broker tips . Everyone who buys these things reads tips and then all buy in, the price gets spiked and then usually drops. Stockopedia has a mass of information on fundamentals, historic trading and future earnings forecasts as very useful comments from professionals and experienced investors like here on parade lol. It all looks quite complicated at first and does take a bit of time to find everything. It does become straightforward after a while its purpose is to make research simple. They do not recommend stock although there is a comments page, where people get a bit carried away sometimes but usually quite balanced. They don't have level 2 yet. I think you get a 2 week free trial which doesn't involve giving your credit card details, a lesson a lot of others offering free trials could learn from. Finally there is Robbie Burns of Naked Trader fame. He has been a phenomenally successful trader for 20 years. He holds seminars and publishes some of his trades. The site is free but you can join the trading forum which I might do instead of Stockopedia this year. Gl

Morning all. Thanks T for you comments and observations on the market and Mcro in particular. Pretty good synopsis I should think. All trading platforms seems to have had a busy year . They have been quite volatile but I suppose like so many its a question of hanging in there. Unfortunately I sold IGG. I just found it too confusing and I thought purchase of Tasty Trades looked expensive and too long drawn out. I don't think completes till the summer. Anyway my mistake selling out. Got a good dividend though.
No news on any of my stock for 2 days running, quite an unusual occurrence.

I see there is a warning o on OIL Price Too much to soon. Isn't that always the way with markets. Not sure how many times I have sworn I won't ever buy old stocks again or metal come to that. Although I have had more success with that. Its just so volatile and you need a lot of nerve and patience. Not like Mcro eh T? People seem to be getting hysterical about a crash on Stockopedia. I blame the orchestra leader there Paul Scot. He's good analyst but then he sounds off on one and I wonder if he still has all his marbles. Its almost getting to the levels of some Boards on here especially BOO, what a nightmare. Well I guess it can drive you mad this game. It is infuriating and unfathomable at times. So many moving parts and balls in the air and things always spring out of the blue, some good some not so good.

Morning everyone. Not much news around other than the new Bank of England governor's non disclosure of involvement with RBS. Who the hell conducted the interview process! Mr Mellon's had a good start to the week his Costa Rican gold mine have bought a milling machine for CNR and his Anic venture now approaching 6 times the value of the companies invested in. both up nearly 10% . Shake head in puzzlement. Actually this hanging around to top up my ISA is proving expensive. If you like gold CNR looks really promising now they are turning the corner from explorers to producers. Having said that it hasn't done much for AAZ and TLW racing away barstewards. Times like this make me wonder if I know what I'm doing. I certainly know what I'm not doing. Best to chillax, so easy to start chasing things and that usually makes it worse. Have a good week

C. I got into AVST just after they IPO'd about 2.50 I think, only a few years ago. The story goes they couldn't get enough interest to list in the States so listed in the UK. The forecast then was that they would make £5 within 5 years , which they did within just under 2 years. Like many companies they have a good social conscience in supporting local causes too. They made a huge blunder with purchasing a company called Jumpshot in 2016 which collected digital traffic information to sell on. Some one pointed out the pretty stark staringly obvious conflict of interests and they hastily closed that arm having partly sold it to another company. Quite a costly blunder both in reputation and loss of confidence from customers. They have recovered pretty well from that near disaster and got away without any legal consequences because they acted very quickly and decisively but about a 35 million impairment. I got out just before the proverbial hit the fan, but actually it never really impacted that badly. If anything it might have slightly dented their growth. Their growth is still slow, but they have just done a couple interesting partnerships and small sale of one of their businesses. Quite surprised at the recent sell off given that and their progressive dividend policy. The directors have done a lot of sells in the recent years but I suppose I shouldn't read too much into that after all the idea is to spend some of your profits. When the new CO took over he announced he wasn't taking a salary as he was going to make Avst do so well he was happy being paid in shares. I don't know how far along with that we are but the sp was about £3.50 then. I had a a very large position originally and only dipped back in when it came down to mid £4 level recently only to see it hit lower £4.00. The market does tend to overshoot both ways, but I think this is a very good entry level for the next chapter in Avst. Hope it doesn't move up too quick as I hope to reinstate some in my ISA next month.

Love the Murryisms, fitting tributes guys. Passion , determination and grit. Funnily enough I'm hearing what sounds like a formula 1 car burning it up on the sea front just now. T you maybe one of the happiest the happiest men in Wales on Englands performance yesterday against France I guess. Nobody wears passion and determination on their sleeve like Johnny May and nobody has worked harder at coming back from near obscurity. He was a total nightmare when he first got called up. He'd run from one side of the pitch to the other at lightening speed with those unmistakable massive strides , carrying the ball further than another player in the history of the game without a millimetre of gain, while his team mates stood around completely bewildered. Now he has matured into one of the best catchers and makers of play we have ever seen. He doesn't often kick the ball, but when he does , does he make it count. Highly distinctive and unpredictable, great combination. Those contortions and grimaces of celebration are his personal signature of effort and belief like no other. I know its a team game and their are equally brilliant possibly more orthodox players, but he is such a one off

Thanks T I did and yes I quite agree with you. Just listened to a podcast on Food tech with Jim Mellon. He has some impressive statistics and talks about potential to eradicate pandemics if we operate in this more humane way. Better use of land etc. This is quite revolutionary Biotech food production , already quite well advanced. Unfortunately the Sp is also quite well advanced about 4x nav! The fish cell produced food looks delicious and also the most advanced in terms of getting to market. Will wait to see next move. They obviously want to invest more and to do that they will need more money. I like the way the are investing in companies though CLNs. Less risk for higher returns potentially. Mellon cut his teeth as an investment banker in silicon valley with the likes of a young Bill Gates and Steve Jobs. He sees similarities to those days to what is happening with the food revolution particularly in the States pioneering the way but also Singapore and the Middle East who have to import 95% of their food. We import 50% so by no means self sufficient, but we all could be . Needless to say Europe are dragging their feet on this so another example of pro Brexit credentials. The Dutch idea of insect protein gets blown out of the water too. Enjoy the rugby.

Just a bit more info for your weekend homework on Agronomics. It looks like one of those shell Aim companies rather than a straight investment company. Firstly a warning a lot of talk about more fundraising often preceded by a spike like yesterday. This is just how manipulation works. James Mellon (Isle of Mann investor)is involved as he is in Condor Gold, in which he stumped half their recent placing. He is held in quite high esteem in certain circles, a very active wealthy investor. Was very impressed by these following companies that are invested in by ACIN and quite mind blowing. The question as always is how much more fund raising before the balance tips the nav into a positive position?

Forgot to mention ANIC. They invest in some amazing new food companies. Possibly the future lies there in I haven't taken a position yet already moved up from 17p to 22p. Could be massive. Futuristic food now.

Yep S. Ive been in all of those and a lot more. Currently out of Atst, Gym, AIR and Kmk all with very healthy profits. CNC have been longest trade, since about 2005. Alliance Trust has been in the family since year dot but pretty poor like most of those old investment vehicles. Beg is the latest promising candidate seems like a share of the times, insolvency practitioner. Will have their work cut out this year and two bolt ons recently. Not really had an NYCT since Arm holdings. Hoping N4P or IGp might do the trick. Really my big holdings just targeting 20-40% plus divs. Opened a position in Uls Tech (digital conveyancing)recently and added today as well as BEG. I like slightly under the radar stock with good finance that fits the current scene. Totally given up on FTSE 100. Some of these Reits companies are interesting for earnings and growth . Got quite a chunk in WHR on the acquisition trail for warehouses for internet goods. Big demand from Chinese looking to house online goods here. Warehouse property is hot stock now. I think its important to move on change ideas and try and keep an ear to the ground for new trends and be open to any and everything especially with solid balance sheets or patents and partnerships. The pace of change and development is breathtaking now.

Maybe their president is trying to upstage Trump. Thank god there is some rugby this weekend or are the French still trying to see if waffles work better than the Oxford/AZN corona virus vaccine. Hope England field a new full back. I rewatched the World Cup match v NZ. What an amazing team England were then even though we lost the cup it seemed like a final rather than the semi. The court case outcome was a bit of a concern. They just love litigation in the states purely by opportunism and they do get verdicts wrong if you can get a good Hollywood lawyer . The news on any partnership would be massive but equally they are still in trials for the new vaccine never delivery system for COVID. Importanly they have established the patent. If successful will undoubtedly be a multi bagger. if it fails there will be another cash call no doubt. A punt but has many legs I hope!

Fascinating interview with RR ceo on the radio, obviously trying to explain the 4 billion outflow. They have done a deal with a Swedish company to power the first all electric passenger airline by mid 20's which is good but I don feel quite like investing just yet. Yes C having a bit of a chill out not just because the cat flap has started flapping in the wind like some kind of manic buzzard. Any way better news from Spirent (5g tester)this morning even though the results are a little flat, the market seems happy for now. Bound to change by lunchtime !

Back to Arctic weather. Appropriately just finished reading Bear Grylls' account of his extraordinary endeavours to get selected for the SAS, then break his back in a parachute jump that went wrong before he even got an assignment with them. After not even being expected to walk again never mind carry on as an adventurer he became the youngest climber to successfully mount Everest. The book itself is an easy speed read but pretty dull and uninterestingly written. The tenacity and persistence of this guy and ability to cheat death is a revelation. 24 rejections from Branson didn't stop him raising 60k as an unknown to sponsor the climb.
I've always been fascinated but never understood the addiction of climbing. The victorians were like Lemmings with literally thousands sacrificing themselves on the almost innocuous slopes of Mont Blanc in deer stalkers and Harris tweeds. I read a book by the grand child of a victorian mountaineer which was beautifully written called 'Mountains of your mind' I'm surprised its not been made into a film. I think there was a film called Everest. Am enjoying the Ridley Scott production of 'the Terror' on BBC's fantasised account of the Franklin expedition to find a trade route across the Arctic. If only they had waited 150 years they could have sailed it in a few weeks. Not doing any more trades till I can top up my ISA, unless something exceptional happens. Have fun
