Silence however is not a great way to win over investors especially in view of the recent bad debt that lead to this dramatic fall ably assisted by JP Morgan shortarse. Previous to this unfortunate blip, trading had been strong. I can’t see why that would not have improved further by now as the roll out in the big stores more than replaced the trading with the one that went tits up. Just a one off loss. I read somewhere that loss is actually only 300k which is a lot less than the original figure of 800k plus. Again I would have thought that would have been news worthy if indeed true. Wow actually finished in the blue. Part of the problem with the SP is the dilutions. But for that the sp probably would be well over 15p by now, but then we wouldn’t be digging anymore either. Well AV it may come as a surprise to you but the market wants to be sure this is actually viable after the many give aways to keep going. That does not therefore put this in the undervalued category just yet.

I thinks it’s worth noting that Verici’s year end was December. So whilst cash burn continues for another 6 months so does the pipeline growth and revenue. The Blue cross contract in Illinois is very significant as diversifying away from Medicare and becoming less dependant becomes more beneficial to clinicians and patients in not only in cost but also speed of treatment. Barrington hinted that these kind of contracts could spread across to other states. In an ever changing shift in Trumps one brain cell it must be pretty hard to predict or forecast anything in the US. What Vrci has demonstrated this year is the viability and commerciality is well in sight.

They had the vision to see and prepare for that eventuality , which in reality seems to have affected them a lot less than others in this sector, with great diversity and growing global reach. Have been wanting for a couple of years. Increasing margins, strong pipeline and new product development. Lucky for me that the market fall has so clearly been absolutely ridiculous. PE ratio of 9.4 falling to less than 8 potentially. Way undervalued to industry peers.

It sounds incredible to say this but it has now doubled since its low last April. The madness of redemptions. The real mean price for the last couple of years has been around £4.00 mainly being held back to spend on the new medical division. However it now seems the whole group is on a roll together and this is looking to me like the early stage of a bigger rerate. Now pushing the £200 million cap barrier when they get to 250 that’s when the big institutions get involved.

I’m not actual redemptions have played a part in the BG underperformance. More worrying is the interview where management discussed a rebalancing of the portfolio. Combine that with the significant share buyback program and I would have expected to see a NAV well north of £12 to be honest. The Nikkei , which BG proudly declare is not representative of their portfolio, had had an astonishing run, so some kind of correction is likely. What that means for BGFd is difficult to guess but as retrace into low £8 seems not unlikely.

I do regret not having any exposure to Japan thanks to the appalling performance of most uk trusts in this area with the exception of Schroders. The Nikkei has more than doubled and BGfd have scraped a reasonable recovery from this exceptional low. However my reinvested money directly into companies has far exceeded BGs dismal performance. Many Japanese trusts have cut and run. Even allowing for Nav discount its poor. Are Uk trusts unique in redemption? Ive no idea. The concern is are Trusts actually viable in todays investment strategy? one thing redemptions have succeeded in doing is flooding the uk markets with bargain shares. Cheers

Dare I say ‘transformational year.? Why not. I think there is the most to look forward to for a considerable time. Firstly i am ,rightly or wrongly greatly reassured by firstly the backers, in particular Brett who suggested the last placing and stumped up the majority of the cash above the the SP, and secondly our new CEO, Rob. Great trading up date, but slightly surprised no announcement about the pilot project with Affidia, a leading European health service with 415 centres across 15 countries. Obviously Cantab has to prove itself translate into contracts but potentially the biggest news for some time. Added to which are still some background noises regarding Apple and Samsung. Added to that are the ongoing clinical trials at Their spinoff Monument Therapeutics. The fact that they seem happy to sail along on a very meagre cash balance demonstrates a lot of confidence and financial discipline . Not exactly out of the mire but when she blows expect a big one! Gl

It’s very encouraging to see a steady rise towards where the SP should be. It’s been a long time coming if you’ve been here for 3 years . If you’ve been here since its inception then 32p looks like a small spec on the ground! This has been a great example of backing great management, not wishing to jinx their extraordinary progress but this kind of sustained rise has been understandably a bit muted for a couple of years . Not entirely sure what the immediate expectations are, mainly because are several catalysts to add major value. A great position!
