Russia say they can survive on $25 a barrel which is curious since Saudi say they need $40 to break even on their existing fields, perhaps they mean they need $40 to run their economy. Off shore has got cheaper by at least a half in last few years. Neither of those figures are encouraging which ever way you mince it. Shell reckon they can break even at $30 per barrel on deep sea drilling which is about half current USA fracking cost. USA was on the verge of being an oil exporter but that is probably going to short lived if it is actually the case which is debatable. Their fracking industry is now back in the turmoil it was 6 years ago as they can hardly be breaking even at $55. If you take the Corona virus out of the equation (which is not an absolute known yet) Given 8% growth forecasts this looks a pretty decent price today Imo. If they maintain the dividend it is an excellent price

The current state of the oil industry shows just how wise the Saudis have been to monetise their oil fields as oil becomes more of a spent force . BP and Shell have massive debt to prop up dividend payments that frankly are no longer being earned. Potentially creating a massive headache for the pension industry. Looks a bit like the last financial crash. Everyone knew it was going to happen but nobody wanted to be first out. The divis look to good to be true mainly because they are.

My point really is valuation of stocks. Comparisons of Ocado has been to the combined valuation of Sainsbury and Morrison by MF. I think that is ridiculous on several counts. Sainsbury has fallen of a cliff SP wise and Morrison hasn't faired much better. You could say their combined value has halved or more in recent years. On the other MF have made no allowance for the input from M&S to come or the tech valuation for OCDO. So it still looks pretty cheap by comparison. Not saying it won't go lower but with headwind of news to com it can't be far off lows can it? Famous last words etc

JC Morgan reckons tis is the start of a downturn for US markets. Been saying as much for a year so mound to be right in the next ten years! Others think we are only half way through the boom which would beat all records if true. The ncyt thing has been interesting. Trying to figure out what the difference is between an RI and exercise of warrants is. Seems to amount to the same thing except the warrants are all at different prices from .069p to £1.45 for one lucky capital investor. The result is 60 million share to 600 million! Without the dilution that would make their current sp about £10 compared 60p a couple of weeks ago. Quite staggereing!

There were some possible sells at 4.6 and 4.7 but I should think it took some time to get that order for 15 million together with a fluctuation of 30% in the sp over the day I think its a fair bet someone has taken a large bite @ 4.9

Similar virus crossed over from wild animal infection to humans. It would seem the approach to some of these diseases is containment and hope the virus dies out.

Went up to 2.2 and back down to 1.45 back up to 2 and closed at 1.66. Think that says it all really. Fun to watch and great if you got in last few weeks. Imagine if you come up with the first vaccine. Think thats still a year off. Hopefully OCADO can deliver it quick like their new organic herbs!

SA. Personally I don't. Think the whole publishing of trades is a total fiasco. Some trades are reported hours late some even days late. Whether they are buys or sells is only indicative, The point being it is a trade which takes two, a buyer and a seller. If they are reported at different times of the day you are likely to see a lot of errors in reports as buys and sells. 210 billion revenue by combined partners. 200 million loss. Should recover 90 million from the fire insurance. Bit confusing what's been counted in or out! Frighteningly big numbers but this is the global growth game to take advantage of a rapidly growing market in changing the way we shop which is beyond entry point for many businesses but for some Ocado is the key holder.

I have been using the LondonStock Exchange website which is good but a bit of a kafafal. I saw a trade for about 85000 shares @11.50 which looked like a sell as all the other trades around it were for £11.65. I guess the new paranoia surrounding Chinese Corona update was the perfect catalyst for shorters this morning, but having to close out a bit quick now, unless it is part of a trend. Dow futures was suggesting a Dow collapse which turned out to be about 0 .3%. And the of course there was the Boris shuffle. Whoed of thought Haynes car manuals would go for £7.00 a share.
