Be happy to see anything over £1 although think will be at least £1-60+ in a month or two. Safety net of one guarentees pension and a twenty year drawdown mega pot but if SP goes south or down and come out of retirement as my penance 😂 I don’t think it’ll come to that and look forward to you naming a venue anywhere in the world to crack open the 🍾 whilst we laugh at the blocked crew moving on to their next failed scam.

I mean ten jobbies with the intellect of a newt spewing the same “it’s over” trash daily must mean PFC have stopped operating.

Problem is, they haven’t and now the nerves are frayed because since 4th December PFC have done exactly what they stated they would do; continue operating, continue winning business, continue shoring up the balance sheet and to cap it off not provide any commentary until it’s all done. That vacuum must be concerning when they’re recruiting and closing out projects with regular comms on both.

Mega project, mega impact

Petrofac was awarded the contract in 2018 and, in a joint venture with Samsung Engineering, undertook the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, training and start-up operations for all utilities and offsites.

The refinery is a strategic investment for the Sultanate of Oman and forms the cornerstone of the special economic zone in Duqm (SEZAD), an emerging industrial centre in Oman. The refinery occupies more than 2,000 acres and processes around 230,000 barrels of crude oil per day, equating to nearly a quarter of Oman's entire daily output.

Transforming Duqm – an engineering marvel

Duqm Refinery wasn’t just about constructing one of the Middle East’s largest oil refineries; it symbolised Petrofac’s deep-rooted commitment to Oman’s economic and social advancement. The project highlighted the transformation of Duqm from a humble fishing village into a thriving economic zone, with Petrofac playing a pivotal role in this evolution.

SJ, I’ll be honest it’s an opinion only. They stated they wouldn’t provide running commentary which meant to me that options had been being explored for some time prior to the 4th December (as you would expect given they had to use 100mln collateral to secure guarentees). Last year they had to restate accounts for 2021/2022 which pushed the reporting date back to April, prior year reported end of March, year before the same so assumption is end of March for this year unless…

As I stated, they want to couple announcements together and they are either able or not to do so end of March or they have to restate accounts (doubtful! As bad as PFC are they usually learn from past mistakes).

If results are to be 29th March then they have to let the markets know by end of Feb. Whichever view you hold the one thing for sure is it’s not far away.

I’m in long term and obvious bias (hope) that we have positive news based on order book and 37 year knowledge of having worked in the industry.

There has been no announcement of when the next update will take place by PFC and dates quoted are from various sites that hold the same assumptions as ourselves.

- expected full year results by 29th March

- announcement of FY results therefore some time between 20th and 29th February

- dependent I guess on when the auditors will sign off and/or whether PFC have asked for further time to bundle financing solutions announcement together with Full Year results

- and also dependent on whether they need to “restate” any of the accounting entries (happened last year).

So my take, there will be communication from PFC within the next two weeks and if FY results on or before 29th March then it’s very positive news. If after, there’s still work to do.

My view, take it or leave it and given 75% are filtered I’m pretty sure I’ll only see sensible comments.

GLG adding another 0.10% which doesn’t even feel like a tie in the water Dan. They ain’t as confident as pre 20th December. What they aren’t hearing from their “insiders that don’t exist” is PFC struggling to raise cash, a) because they may not need to or b) because Aiden’s got all parties locked down and they’ll announce when they are ready to announce.

Last years FY update for 2022 was late April due to having to restate the accounts (adjustments to prior year and current year accounts).

FY 2021 update was late March ‘22

They haven’t announced anything as yet but I’m guessing they will wrap FY results together with update on short term financing.

I think results will be end of the month in March and hope update on financing early February but it’s PFC and if everything lands as they want could be mid/end Feb in a chaotic positive week of finance, contract wins and FY results.

WHAT IS THE THAI OIL SRIRACHA REFINERY PROJECT?

Awarded in 2018, the project sees Petrofac extend its credentials in downstream projects. Valued at around US$4 billion, the project is being delivered in a consortium with Saipem and Samsung and, as the lead partner, Petrofac’s share is around US$1.4 billion. The existing refinery is being updated, enabling it to produce the latest generation of low-emission fuels. The scope of work encompasses engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services, with Petrofac working primarily on the brownfield aspects of the site, including around 1,400 interfaces with the existing plant, with the two consortium partners contributing the new process systems in the greenfield areas.
