RE: U.K. inflation heading lower14 Dec 2022 07:54
Been a raft of indicators this last week or so both in the US and here that are all pointing to a reduction in inflation and the question now of are we over the peak, and with it smaller rises in interest rates.
The Competition and Markets Authority need to get back into investigating supermarkets and refiners as they imho are blatantly profiteering. About a week ago I was paid 174p for diesel and it can vary 10p dependant on where you purchase it on your travels. Lets face it also, the Government could be doing far more themselves by cutting fuel duty which is a substantial take out of the price of any litre of fuel as it is a direct feed into production and transporation costs and ultimately consumer prices. (Particularly with rail strikes also).
Anyway we are back in the zone for all the previous bidders in the next few days and they are all eyeing up the same company just over half what it was when they last started showing their hands, and now they can come forward for the individual parts of the business.
