You always post rational, insightful words, thanks Ian.....
I was all in with Royal Mail Group (hence OSW) as my first foray into sharedealing, held them for best part of 2 and half years, at one point I was over 50% down (270 - 124) I ended up doubling my money (540), if you're short term then you're in trouble, however once the Cineplex issue is resolved, and the trading updates become favourable, then this will come good, my exit point is 130 I expect to reach that before the end of 2022. As for Covid, vaccinations, improved treatments for serious illness and will make this a moot point in a year or so, historically these Pandemics have lasted a couple of years, that's without the acceleration of transmission from air travel and the advanced medical responses already mentioned.....chill your beans peeps.....good luck all
*here....
That would make it as/more successful than recent blockbusters Spectre, Aladdin, Justice League, Wonder woman, Toystory 4, It 2, Solo-A Star Wars Story and Venom (all of which from 2017 or after)......I think it's clear the appetite is still there......and 73% of the revenue is US based.....It does make me smile when I hear reports on hear of a quiet night at a midweek screening in Cirencester when England are playing in one of their biggest games in recent times......that might not be the performance indicator I'd be looking at in my investment decisions.......as ever good luck all and keep up the 'bants' on this board....
Not long now until interim results, should put a bit of flesh on the bone and show the direction going forward, any thoughts?
Nice work Sammy.....see, even you concede its not all tomfoolery on here :)......
That's great to hear, F9 received very well in Asia if I recall.......regards
Black Widow, Suicide Squad, Shang Chi, Venom, Eternals and Spiderman all released this year, personally don't see the appeal in these, but they generate huge box office receipts, (DC and Marvel historically) $150,000,000+ on opening weekends........additionally Matrix 4, Bond, Kingsman 3, Ghostbusters, Top Gun2, Dune, West Side Story, Candyman and starting with Fast 9 this weekend, will all be huge box office hits.....be interesting to see how this translates to the SP going forward......GLA
I think worse case scenario is a 2 week extension to give further vaccine protection, however expecting big numbers to get the jab over the next week or so, the 20s cohort appear to be proactive in their uptake. Most of the UK is over 70% having had 1 jab and over 50% having both, think it probably will need to be over 80%. F9 and Black Widow out in the next 4 weeks, so could be significant timing......more interested about where we are in November with Bond and Top Gun 2 released, but this remains a very entertaining board.....
Well, pleased for you that you did sell out, albeit for only a 'few quid' profit, you don't want to be 'fretting' while trying to enjoy a film....share dealing can be very stressful for some, even when only small sums of money are involved, you did the right thing for you....good luck......
Quiet Place 2 is a 15 certificate, was it Ok for your kids nothing to inappropriate in it? or are your kids in their 20s......
it's interesting they appear largely when the share position is on the cusp of an upward movement, or to enthuse about a demise when the price is suddenly dropping, very reactive posters. Why on earth anyone would feel the need to comment on a sharechat board they have no investment in is beyond me.......there is always a vested interest......(Opinion not just restricted to Cine)

Falkland, I remember you from the Royal Mail share chat a few years ago, you took a lot of flak but were vindicated when the price did indeed drop to 125p, did you get back in and follow the rise back up ?(I think that's what you said you were going to do). Pleased to see you invested in this...
You sold in the 80s when you could have sold in the 120s,.....thicko....
Haha, yeh righto.........
That didn't happen, you bull****ter......
Teslo
Vue are doing just that with both the European finals, and with some music concerts being beamed live......let's see if cine follow suit.....

there are so many quality films through this year, good luck to anyone thinking of selling in May, but the enthusiasm for returning to once familiar activities indicates that cinemas are in for a significant resurgence. I have witnessed in my industry which done very well during the lockdown, there has been a rapid slowdown in business as consumers return to previous patterns with renewed vigour........regards
