It does look like a sound bet, especially if you are ready to hold long term. I wouldn't however make it sound like there are no (or low) risks. After the div, the sp might plummet if everyone's packed in only for the div. Likewise, you could reinvest your dividend (like most will do), but the company gets delisted, or Putin takes the Russian assets, which is not fun (though also not as disasterous as people are making it sound). Point being you would have loads of shares in a company which has re-rated to a much lower point and you'd be locked in.

I'm in because I want to reinvest and wait three years and see where we're at. It should be (at least) a 10 bagger with reinvestment the dividends, but I'm putting it at about 70% that this will all will work out to plan. Tactically, I'm still toying with the idea of reinvesting my div amount Friday morning to catch the drop - assuming and hoping I'll get it back on payout day. Again, another risk, but if you're in for a penny you're in for a pound, and might as well average down when you can...

You would, but the opening after the x-div date (Thursday) the price goes down proportionate to the dividend. There's no way to game the system. These are trading basics that you should probably learn before you start trading shares. (And I am genuinely suggesting this, rather than trolling you).

Mine just executed on interactive investor. I didn't set a limit and it went through at 94.5 (which is a fair bit higher than the current ask price). Not too worried, my average is still just under 70 p., but annoying that it looks like the ii's are at the back of the queue as bigger orders are getting filled. Also seems like the whole relationship of supply and demand impacting share price has gone out the window for the time being...

From my modest experience with our local planning office, a lot of discussions go on in the background. We, for instance, were basically told after a protracted two-month discussion and negotiation that if, we revised our plans to include A and B, then the new application would be accepted (or, as they put it, “would likely to be accepted”). I don’t know what ANGS’ relationship is with the local planners (and hopefully it’s better than with the Surrey lot) but I still think there is a chance this will be rubber-stamped they’ve done the necessary leg-work behind the scenes. If you don't know the difference between a speculative AIM share and a bonafide FTSE 250 one, I really don't want hear you crooning in 6-12 months, with the rest of us, once this is back where it's financials say it will be. Well, I guess there’s two lines of thinking. At this mcap, there’s a long way to fall. I think for those of us that’ve used Wise, we’ve seen there’s nothing else in the world quite like it. If you’re making a major purchase and moving huge funds, you’ll easily save thousands of pounds in fees versus banks or Paypal. We save about £4,000 compared to the next cheapest option when buying a flat 5 years ago and another £7,000 this year when moving inheritance money over from euro. It has the potential to disrupt the whole system and, while not terribly innovative from a technological standpoint, if even a small percentage of people realise how much money they would save - and their market share goes up by just a percentage or two - the SP will be multiples of this. Most of us have enough experience to know the share price hovers around (or just below) the placing price until the shares have been gobbled up. A good RNS (like today), just meant that volume is up and the surplus will be cleared faster.

In truth, I'm quite enjoying this predictable up and down movement; I've added a third to my ANGS holding since December selling a chunk on the ups and buying it back in periods like... well, now. IMO, this has become one of the few trading shares on AIM which has really exciting short to mid term prospects.

And you don't think the open offer is going to provide as much? Not of course counting the warrants.

Those are some expensive lights... they aren't exactly drilling the North Sea basement like HUR.

His fall-back response "it's all factual" (which we've heard a hundred times) is laughable.

If he just bought ANGS it's "isolation plug arrived, just waiting for the action to start". If he's sold up with his £200 banked: it's "no oil, no nothing (as usual) at Brockham... But on an unrelated note, the 170th tanker just left Horsehill (don't ask me why it's down 1.5%)!"

Both are certainly factual. It's the change in slant that changes depending on his latest trade that makes him the biggest joke on twitter.

e_al - the exact same thing occurred to me. Two weeks of light and sunshine on his reporting of ANGS, and then back to the harbringer of doom and gloom. It’s too bad, as a concept wealdoilers was a good one (i.e. inform the public what the oilers in the Weald are up to). Too bad it’s run by a complete numpty who can’t see past his own nose (and interests).

As for Geodave... he joined Pboo in the filter bin where he belongs a while back.

I'm really sorry about that Baits... we've all been there. Not that you need telling, but it has been somewhat oversold and will likely return to its .8 - 1.0 haunting ground in the not too distant future. Small consolation I know. I actually like it as a buy right now.

Also, I don't think 20p is a pipe-dream for ANGS. From my standpoint, I've averaged down enough from the heady 30+ days, that I'm not that greedy... 18 p will do me nicely. ;P

I think the LTHs are still here and probably quietly accumulating at this price. I topped up the last time it was (briefly) at 4 p, in the first week of July I think it was, and sold some of it that tranche two months later at 9 and then the rest at 12. I'm happy with my holding, but like when HUR was puttering around 27 p, it is these fallow periods where money is made. Unfortunately, there's always been a minority that feed into weakness and prefer to be spiked (apparently). I think one of the two investments you mentioned is interesting, but both will likely go further down to a comfortable buy in price...

I think these are two separate issues:

1. As per “Blow-Ins, Bullshitters, Shorters, Day Traders, Derampers”. I use my filter button and you have one too. I don’t see them or engage with them...

2. As to ‘authentic’ posters, who are worth talking to, I have a problem with this: “I have EVERY dam(n) right to defend my position, seek information, ask difficult or pertinent questions from the resident Oil Expert (Alan)....and indeed comment if deemed necessary!”

I actually don’t think you do. This is a community of investors. When you sold out, you gave up your right to give your two-cents. Much like at an agm, you’ve relinquished your right to walk through the door. We simply don’t care here what non-investors are thinking about why not to invest, in much the same way as you didn’t care about non-investors moaning on when you were an investor. By commenting from that position, you make yourself a “Blow-Ins, Bullshitters, Shorters, Day Traders”.

By all means, continue to post as you see fit. Just don’t be surprised if you get reported for your posts (which in my mind are verging on share manipulation) and eventually get banned.

I think the material point is that, if you have sold up, it’s unethical to come onto the board trying to poke holes in the investment case, specifically asking:

- why has it taken so long?
- when the one down the road just took a quick clean and was flowing copiously?
- can you damage the well in the perforation stage?

... and then making it very clear that, as an expert investor (who’s won business awards and even turned a profit on AIM) you think the competitor in the same sector is the better investment.

Most of us on here - me included - don’t consider that to be reputableIf you’re not in... stay silent and read, as opposed to subtly manipulated the share. That is after all what the rest of us do when we are ‘visiting’ a board made up of a community of bonafide investors.
