A dove tail.13 Apr 2022 21:54
Hi all
I thought I would share this with you:
I went out for a pub lunch with my brother and my long lost foster sister and her husband..
My brother has just got over throat cancer and has not aged well after treatment, he struggles to eat due to a lack of saliva, though a beer helps to wash things down:)
My “foster sister” has terminal cancer, the good thing is the chemotherapy has reduced her tumour and has given her more time, thankfully..
She has to carry around a bag with replacement pads and underwear due to having many accidents (2 today)
Her very loving husband (legend of a man) has a lump on his brain, this is affecting his balance and he is undergoing further tests within the next week…
We have had an absolutely fantastic day, we have really had a good laugh (to the point of being raucous)…
I spent the day with three very brave people today..
I think I learned something today, with the right attitude to life you can still enjoy what time you have left, it really is about the quality of life and not the length…
Chemotherapy is brutal, we are working on much kinder drugs that gives a better quality of life…
I’m in!
