It isn't too long until WEB will be looking forward to the vote on change of betting law in California and I believe the price will rise as it is almost certain to be a vote in favour in November. That will make WEB the most desirable of shares - a WIN WIN!! They may also benefit a bit before that if there is a relaxation of lockdown on harness-racing track.

I just took another look at my Buy prices on previous deals and thought that at this SP it is probably worth chucking more at it in hope that in due course it will drill and hit black stuff at a price (then) of over $40 a barrel. I know it's a gamble but there are reasons to think a) they are cheap and b) the drill should happen.

Sadly perhaps, sain, it won't turn a weak case better but I suspect that it is in both side's interests to cobble something together, rather than drag through the courts. Whoever wins in High Court , the loser would appeal all the way up. That will take years and make the lawyers shed loads more dosh. Would also serve to devalue commercial property even more and as you have already pointed out, that is not in either side's best interests. So I think both sides should come to their business sense quickly and make a 'Commercial' Compromise.

Ask your broker (or anyone in the know) for the safest and most boring shares in UK and this will be there! Its just all the others in the portfolio I worry a bout!

Haven't done conveyancing for a long time, sain, but they always used to insert 1.00 p.m in contracts, for the latest time for completion. Something to do with the good old bank drafts I seem to remember! Had no blessed luck on LID either but sticking around there too!

Not lucky! I would still not be surprised if this is a negotiating ploy. If they really wanted to complete, they could perhaps have remortgaged one or more others in the fund - no, they will drag it out to get a better deal. But it does leave HMSO in the driving seat, because additional losses can be sued for if no deal happens and they could then issue a writ and place a charge against the Orion fund to protect the action. Wonder how tomorrow's papers write it up?

Not surprised . Interest can be required on the balance if they now complete or there will be either a compromise (possible) or a stonking great court case (likely).

I am similar to you. Too much losing on my AIM Flutter Portfolio. Overweight LGEN and (unfortunately)HMSO, which is awaiting completion today of a huge deal! If it goes through, HMSO stand a chance of survival.

Might be uncomfortable - or, if you are brave (and still have cash) another buying opportunity. If there is a serious risk LGEN could fold we might as well close up shop now ; sorry, they are all closed now!
