We are on a bout a 6 week continuos hold for AGM. RNS 2 weeks notice for annual resuts, then RNS for Annual resulats and 4 week notice to AGM... Arnt the Annual results at least 2 months late already

MAtty 56 - im sure Newmont are paying to maintain what they own and have developed - that makes sense if they are trying to sell the 70% - but nobody really knows if they will pay to continue to develop whilst they wait for a sale, IMHO they wont pay for any further development. The LCA seems a convenient excuse to halt development until the sale complete. The lack of news and the time its taking to clear this LCA seems far too long - if it was engineering issues Im sure we would have had an RNS explaining why its taking so long

Ninetopprizesof, there has indeed been an update on the LCA. Taken from the Havieron Update RNS on April 30th:

That statement in the RNS is such a crap piece of fluff... no timings dates or plan - it tells practically nothing as it is intended to to do. We have been at this LCA for what - 5 months? not a jot of real information. I have said before and say again - it is a convienient stop point until it is decided who is paying for the other 70% of the decline. And this wont be decided any time soon as Newmont is not paying another cent for a project they dont want

Divedends are never talked about on quarterly financial results - all those those think so and bought the share with that expectation are a bit clueless.

Dram, agree - I have been nibbling at this share for a couple of years and I am building a good holding....I think its got plenty of legs up to 850p

Thats all correct - but like most shares you could have sold yesterday, bought back today on x =-divvy day - you would have made more than what the divvy is worth and not had to pay any tax on the divvy's.....

Bobbins - its a quarterly financial update - there will be no mention of dividends as normal -it wont affect the share price one bit

I dont think stopping does anything to value - its not like the gold is going anywhere. I just think the aquifer is a a convenient excuse that could drag on for months. Shaun just stated that water extraction was lower than expected - so whats stopping the restarting of the decline. Its taking a lot longer than previous 2 aquifers. If you were on the board at newmont - you might think development money better spent elswhere. They obviously dont think they will get a significant return for any further develepmont costs - otherwise why sell it...And we have no idea what any contract states regading payment for the development - so no point to speculate that newmont HAVE to continue. I would be pleasently surprised if the decline restarts in next few weeks - But I just cannot see it until the 70% is sold.

Glad we are waking up to the 70%. More pressing question is who is going to continue to pay for 70% of the development and decline....I doubt Newmont will if they have decided to sell. I doubt GG will as they cant afford it. I see the decline being pretty much stopped until Newmont sell the 70% ....
