This is a common mistake regarding inflation - 10% inflation raises prices and they stay with you forever even when inflation returns to 0

See we went in strong with 1st new buback yesterday at 12M shares.....hoovering them up for cancellation before they are back at 4.50.......

big thing for me is the continuing paying off of the debt - net debt down 10 billion over the last year to 23 billion - if they could do that for another year the company is in great position for the transition. Would they bother to pull the debt down further after that...no so sure

Todays's RNS shows the Rosneft stake was written of in 1st qtr to the tune of 23 billion. BP overall made a loss of 20 Bilion in 1st qtr and 11 Billion for first half of year....yip that good news want reported by aunty beeb

That would be pointless IMHO and wont happen. The vote is within the conservative party members for the leadership contest who are not interested in it.

Its not short term - they just announced 4% per annum uplift on divvy as long as the price of oils is 60 - this has lots of legs and this company will move more to green.....Its probably going to become one of the worlds biggest green energy producer/distributor within 15 years...I think still worth buying now to be in that green energy transformation

and sell your shares on the x-dividend date if you want to sell and keep divvy - although ive no idea how to beat the rush on this date - can someone advise on how to get best price for shares on x-divvy date?

You have to hold or purchase your shares before the x-dividend date to get dividend. If you purchase shares on the x-dividend date you dont get the dividend

Thats interesting - I also read that pod point may be a good target for a BP takeover as its share price in dumps since listing

With the divvy I am assuming I will get close to the total divvy when I add in the divvy from the Haleon shares.... on thinking that through - no we will probably be screwed over

well it tells me 9.5% reduction in issued shares since q1 2021 - has it reflected in share price value - im not so sure

thanks for that - ok i guess i didnt structure my question correctly....since buybacks started whats the percentage reduction in shares taking into account those issued . is buyback actually making a dent in the number of shares or not..
