Schlemiel..... I think you are right on with this assessment..... what one has to take into consideration is the Gov't and it's timeline. I'm sure this timeline is part of this puzzle and may have some incentives attached. I have to admit I'm a little surprised at where we are trading with all this buzz in the air?? You would think we would be north of last years highs

I just don't see BHP partnering with anyone here.... why would they??? They have the knowledge and balance sheet to develop Cascabel into a massive copper and gold play. Taking on a partner for a 50 year project is very short sighted. Is there anywhere else that they have done this on another mining asset??

Worrying about daily fluctuations in share price is pointless unless you are day trading.... patience will be rewarded.... it will come out of nowhere!!! Sit tight as I'm sure this will happen sooner than later

good catch DG ... They missed the low by 1 week... options would have had SP of 15 cents.!!!! Last year B Mcdonald and some others purchased alot of shares at .22..... Management is very long at these levels and will hopefully benefit handsomely from Cascabel....

Ecuador should officially announce windfall tax being eliminated with the next 10 days.... I don't think anything happens to our SP until this weight is officially lifted.... Until that uncertainty is completely gone everyone is just waiting on executing their strategies.... I think the next lift over 30p is when that officially gets lifted....

I find both SOLG and CGP very undervalued based on BHP becoming a large shareholder. I think the fact that Copper and Gold prices are so low is the main factor that we are where we are. BHP, Newcrest and any other potential suitors also know that these are bargains at the moment. That's why I see them moving on this fairly quickly. Probably before US elections and the risk of a blue wave sending copper prices higher........ On another note I pickup my Nissan Leaf today with 185 lbs of copper in it!!!! GLTA

Hawkspear... I don't think Cornerstone ownership of 78 million shares of SOLG has any handcuffs. SOLG may have first right of refusal on CGP getting bought but not on the shares that reprensents 8% of SOLG ownership. On other topic BHP would have to issue an press release if they acquire 2% more shares of SOLG... I previously stated it was at the 10 % threshold.... GLTA

I believe we are still waiting on Windfall tax official legislation.... I think when that legislation is official we will see an announcement that BHP has increased there ownership to 10%.++... another way they could do this is by buying shares directly from Cornerstone??? 78 million shares... Can a large block trade at any price when the public markets are trading at a different price??? Im not sure the rules around that .. anyone have any insight???

I think we will probably see a PR from BHP stating they have crossed the 10% ownership threshold fairly soon. There is no way they are sitting on 6% ownership with copper priced at these levels. If you believe copper will increase in value this is the time to acquire assets like Cascabel.

In Canada a company must issue a press release if they acquire 10% or more of the outstanding voting shares... if a formal bid is made for the company anyone acquiring more than 5% of the voting shares must declare via a press release

That being said I wouldn't be surprised if there is already a deal done in principal... something happened today that made them walk away from Spinco..... JMHO... GLTA

I think the whole transaction of the spin out was quite complicated... it created dual class of shares and a reverse split that seemed (100 to 1) quite excessive.... I think the dual class with different voting rights was designed to protect long term shareholders but might have been onerous to an acquiror.... I would think any structure that complicates ownership would be frowned upon by both SOLG and potential suitors

The spin was has been involved in some type of negotiation for many months.... there is no way that the TSX was slow in approving ..... someone didn't want the Spinco to happen...... I'm sure it will become much more transparent in the coming days/months..... GLTA

SOLG not knowing this was happening makes me think there is much more coming fairly quickly.... why wouldn't BHP take advantage of the price of the stock being so low now??? I would thing Ecuador will finalize windfall tax legislation over next few days..

Don't forget.... not only does CGP have 15% of cascabel but 78 million shares of SOLG..... this represents close to 24% of Cascabel..... I always thought the Spin out was on hold for greater reasons (back room negoitiation)... I bet CGP has already inked their deal and that its connected to this ..... GLTA

Richrich...... that article is from 2017???? Am I missing something??? Apparently CGP is waiting on TSX approval.... I don't buy into this as I find it hard to believe the TSX would slow down a corporate action like this.. There has to be something going on behind the scenes here........ I think windfall tax official announcement will be a catalyst in deals being done.... lets hope I'm correct
