Why do people always think the price is being manipulated when it's going against them, but they never think that when it's moving in their favour?

Stop losses are a nightmare. They're visible to market makers so if they need to create liquidity they can momentarily spike the price to trigger buy/sell orders. This often happens before a big move in the opposite direction. Leveraged trades are more susceptible to this because the stops tend to be tighter due to the magnified movements. I'm not familar with granite but in general 80% of punters lose money on these leveraged platforms - the spreads are often wider, that's how they make their money, so you're on the back foot from the off.

Tbf the share price was over £3 in march 2019 so the decline in flight hours is well priced in.

I think finding and naming the new CEO will be a catalyst for the sp.

We keep getting whacked down by big sells everytime we get to 129p, if we can get through that resistence we should be good for a run up to 135p... and beyond... hopefully.

Careful what you wish for. The share price will be marked down by the divi amount on open on ex day. With a volatile share like this and a lot of naive investors, who seemingly have little understanding of how dividends work, that drop could trigger stops and selling, leaving you worse off on paper than you would have been without the divi.

cw1966 - I follow barc too - it's similar to RR in that the price is close to historic lows and providing a good entry point for the patient investor with a multi-year time horizon.

My 132p close is looking very shaky at the moment... I'll probably guess the same for next week though, got to be optimistic.

E.g. If the share price didn't change for the next 30 years and they paid a 10% divi in monthly installments, by renivesting those dividends you would increase your holding 20 fold. If you took that money out and spent it instead of reinvesting then you would only get 3x your initial investment in cash and no increase in your holding. It's why they say: 'It's time in the market, not timing the market, that counts'.

If you have a long time frame then you should always reinvest dividends! The compound effect of this is the secret to getting rich slowly.

It's the factor that makes the stock market outperform other investments, like property, over the long term, without reinvested dividends it doesn't.

That's how I see it too. I think every man and his dog probably has buy orders down there... if we get there.

This looks like a decent entry level with limited downside - strong historical support around 130p has only been breached once in the past decade, due to covid. The price seems to be testing the breakout from the decade long down trend channel, a bounce from somewhere round here and eventual new highs above 220p would confirm the up trend is still in play: https://invst.ly/xv3qh

CW1966 - yeah 130p might be too optimistic.. I'm kind of tempted to get a foot in the door now and then buy more if it does drop down to there. If you look over the past decade or so it's bounced off 130p a few times so it's a level it keeps going back to and finding support.
