Capita taking on the payroll and HR services from SSCL (the current holder) makes perfect sense. I’ve posted previously about the disconnect between payroll services and pension services with SSCL failing to meet its targets to provide payroll details to Mycsp. To integrate both services within Capita will ensure a smooth exchange of data between payroll services and pensions claims.

Perhaps it’s more telling that if Cabinet Office wasn’t satisfied with Capita’s progress on the pensions backlog they wouldn’t be considering Capita for this contract.

For someone who is supposed to have a job, savage garden spentds a lot of time on here posting, or maybe this is his job. The bottom line being that savage garden believes that as a civil service pension recipient I should be able to log onto my account on a capita server via my Mycsp log in details and via their server. Which makes him just about the most stupid poster ever.

Savage garden it was the same when Mycsp had the contract the elements that they couldn’t control impacted on service, including the failings of SSCL and the complexity of pay and overtime rules. So that is not a capita created problem. You really are a paid trouble maker. Why else would you post such constant negativity if it’s only a learning process for you.

You are the moron who suggested that folks should only need to register for the pension site once and be able to access the Capita pension site using their Mycsp log in details.

Simpile, not sure what you mean by main system…..but HR, salary services, A/L requests sick records are all run by SSCL a subsidiary of a French company.

Cabinet Office did run the pension scheme but when MyCSP originally got the contract, they ran it on their own system. One of the big issues has always been that there is no system communications between SSCL and Mycsp. So if someone claims their civil service pensions (Classic based on best year of last three, or Alpha career average) The pension calculation is totally dependent on SSCL doing the salary calculations and then notifying Mycsp or now Capita. Historically there have always been long delays in SSCL providing the data within the 3 months agreed in the contract and them Mycsp had a history of failing to meet its targets to pay pensions. There are in fairness various complications such as different overtime rates and allowances dependent on when overtime is worked some of which are pensionable others are not. As an example week day overtime is paid at non pensionable plain time, Saturday overtime is paid at non pensionable plain time but with a half time pensionable Saturday premium. SSCL has to calculate all of that before sending the pensionable salary notification to Capita.

Although it doesn’t suit savage garden or aimmaster bator’s agendas, Capita will still be tied into the ongoing service failings and delays caused by SSCL.
