You can bet your company has been advised by Health & Safety experts not to allow individuals to wear PPE supplied by themselves as the company cannot be certain of it's origin or suitability etc. The company has a duty of care and should someone attempt to claim the company was negligent in not protecting staff you can hear a lawyer asking the company how do they know where the mask has come from, what is its recommended uses blah blah blah so it's easier to have tracability and one for all. Sign of the wonderful legislative times.
