The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
And have every right to, I (then we) stopped buying shares as I did not have time to check on them, Those we bought were FTSE quoted not aim except for one many years ago called "Four Eyes" who were opticians, We actually had a decent return, in fact thinking back they were not on aim just one that some trader was pushing. Had a job to get them to sell the shares but they did, at a good profit. Do not know or cannot remember what happened to Four Eyes.
Then we decided to just invest in to Investment trusts to save me time as I was looking after my seriously disabled good lady. We chose those specialising in small countries and small companies etc as their growth was better than the FTSE 100 I.Ts. I came across FFWD who were investing in unquoted stocks, not a bad idea I thought at the time to include in our portfolio. The stocks they held looked reasonable and stupidly thought they would trade similarly to the large Investment trusts we had.
Then we were told by the Seed / FFWD BOD that Leap was grossly under-priced and would sell in an IPO between 20-30p a share, so we bought a few more. To be told a complete lie was not expected as it looks like Seed was never going to have an IPO.
To say now that the stocks held would get our losses back is something I am not sure about. I do think they have good possibilities, but what the BOD will do with any success stories is the problem, along with where the Leap money will go, except some will pay their wages. Unless you are someone near to the board and can buy them on the cheap.
Why would any large investor risk investing in Seed after what the BOD has done in the past?
Regardless of the price who among current share holders will invest more in to Seed even at 2p. Ok they may trade and sell at 2.9 which would give a decent profit, but how long will they wait? There is the chance that the NAV may drop again, it was 12p and has halved, so in theory it could halve again.
Some one has actually said I do not exist, what a very silly statement to make, not unlike some other silly statements on here over the years. If I do not exist who owns my email address that LSEast has on record?
Take care all, it is up to each shareholder to decide whether to hang on to their stock or get rid and invest in a safe opportunity.
For those who do not like premium bonds, I only had £1300 back this month in wins. Perhaps not enough for some of you, but it will help me cover the coast of taking in a couple of Ukrainian refugees, which I feel is a Christian thing to do by all who have the space.
Oh the bed bungalow is still up for sale at around £165k and if they want to, those refugees can move to Devon with me once I sell.
What you say is what I have a few times. We were told incorrect information, how does a BOD get away with it? Misleading shareholders should be a crime, How much money have shareholders lost, while he pockets a ridicules salary.
Without large shareholders, along with the small have a majority holding, we can not get rid of him, until Seed is worthless and there is no income to pay the BOD salary following the disposal of all the stock held and they use the cash to continue paying their wages until it runs out.
How much of leaps money will be invested and where, while some is used to continue pay the salaries.
The whole lot is a downright robbery in my opinion
Why do people call others "Mate" when they clearly dislike them? It appears a common thing on here.
I hate it when a stranger stops me in the street and says "Excuse me mate" when Excuse me is sufficient as I am not their mate.
Have a nice day is another thing North America has sent us. It means well but is not a British thing to do.
It is as bad as people asking how you are in the Doctors. Why do they think you are there at the doctors?
Must be to do with my age.
As I said then sellers may come back, at least there is one decent purchase to off set part of the sales. We need a couple of days of just big purchases to get it going, but then again for how long. It is all so depressing.
If the rise can be sustained, we have had these rises after a new low before, then the sellers returned. At least we know it cannot drop more than 2p these days. Why on earth did we not all sell at 13p, but hindsight is great. If it were not for the BOD it would be the cheapest share around, but any profit or increase in vale of a share we hold disappears or gets sold on the cheap. Thus making it only profitable for the BOD. I only hold a few these days after selling the majority at a loss, Still fail to see how some claim to have made money long term from the share. Must have been extremely lucky or bought or sold at just the correct time, something that is normally impossible to do regularly. Take care all.
trades today all Sales? If the 120k is a purchase it would surely have cost more than 1.99p with previous trades being Sales all in the at 2p range. Probably the MMs reduced the price after the 120k sale, but it is just guss work.
Cannot think of anything else to comment on regards Seed. Soon be better weather for the BOD to have nice holidays on there salaries.
Putting my 3 bedroomed bungalow back on the market, even though sales are slow. asking for offers over £165k to test the market and if I get a decent offer will move back to Torbay to be with most of my family, or the West Midlands were a smaller part is living.
Decided not to apply for planning permission to build two bungalows in the back garden even though it would increase the property value as I simply cannot be bothered.
Did you all see the northern lights, I did not as it was so cloudy last night and never looked for them the night before.
You made me giggle Dudilishious, think i spelt it correctly. Not so much wisdom, perhaps experience. Although I did make some seed errors when I planted some of my pennies to hopefully fast forward my investments. We were all mislaid and not just by the BOD.
Yes first under 2p, sadly i may be correct in saying it may well go below 2p
Why does someone keep saying I am someone else and not elderly, perhaps I am the invisible man.
Some on here are sad I am sorry to say.
Well I shall be 81 this year and not so clever as I use to be, but still a lot more intelligent than the odd silly sausages who write on here. They are a good ten bob short of a pound me thinks. Some countries actually appreciate the elderly.
I did not brag about it, so goodness knows what you are on about Dagenham. I mealy said I could see it going to the 1p range and unfortunately it looks like I may be correct. Will I buy at under 2p? have to see, might even wait until it is under 1p. but surely buyers may be tempted before that happens. The whole lot is a sad affair. How many think the BOD will retire to the South of France when all the stock and money runs out, but perhaps they will ask the shareholders to put more money in at 1p a share to keep them to the life style they have become accustomed too thanks to us.
I had no pleasure in saying the share price may get in the 1p range, it was just how the market was looking at Seed. If there are more sellers than buyers, as we are experiencing then the price will go down, the only thing that surprised me was it had not reached that infamous price before now, it shows that a lot of deals, called sales, were in fact buys, which some of us knew, to help Seed from dropping further in to oblivion.
All current sellers are in fact losing money as they are probably buyers over the last 6 weeks, getting out once they realised they had made an error in buying in to Seed. I have lost money in Seed and admit it, how some claim to have made money puzzles me, unless they were extremely lucky with their timing.
It still look a decent buy if the NAV did not drop further than 5-6p. At 13p we we confident with the sale of leap at a price the BOD indicated it would fetch, led us to look towards 20p as a NAV. So those averaging out at 7-8p were feeling they had made a good investment. We did not visualise that the BOD estimated price for Leap was so far out it was unbelievable, some may say misleading or even not true. But the sale by a relative should have had us all disposing of our stock. Surly they knew the trading of Leap and what it would fetch, but we all, well most of us believed they were correct in what they told us.
This must be the worst run I.T. ever. I would still buy in to small quoted companies as that may attract larger investors.
If the Wealth club launch their fund for unquoted companies, then all will desert Seed and go to a fund that looks to have promise. Leaving the board with a worthless I.T. and sell its portfolio for what they can get , then continue to draw their income until the money runs out and then they are forced, poor devils, to retire to the South of France thanks to you and me.
To get lambasted over my idea of what I would do if i was sudenly put in charge of Seed. Yet no one said I was talking rubbish. Probably because they are clueless as to what to do if put in charge.
Now I ask again. If you were put in charge of Seed what would you do, no moaning about others. Just what you would do to get Seed moving. Still amazed that no one said my ideas were silly.
Shareholders must gang together with our holdings and make sure that they are more than the board holds and kick the current board out. I am not holding many to be honest.
Looking to buy in at the 1p range. As a number said it was sell up time in the past with the view of getting in much cheaper.
Sorry it has posted it before I finished, thats the arthritis for you.
05) buy in to quoted small companies. This may attract outsiders.
06) check with the wealth fund.
You are probably rubbising what I have said but at least I have said something.
For those that rubbish me, give us your ideas if you were to take over the fund, simples!!!!
It appears that no one has any constuctive ideas what to do, so it is left up to me who knows nowt.
01) Try to raise some money
02) Sell the stocks that you all feel are no good for what ever we can.
02) Then, and I know it is a big one ask all exisiting share holders to put more money in at approx 1.25p per share. Holders will be limited to a fixed % of what they hold already.
03)Try and get more outside money in, at just under the current SP, I know, easier said than done, but with new people in charge they may be tempted.
04)Only expenses paid to those of us involved in reorganising the trust, plus £20k per annum based on 40 hours work per week. There would be a bonus if the trust reaches a certain SP. Once the trust has improved so can the salaries.
With the money we hold I would invest in some small quoted companies. This may attract more investors.
Check with the wealth fund who are looking in to investing in to private companies, asking does not hurt.
