It was much higher than that - about a couple of years ago, at an 8% discount rate, the net present value of the mine and the processing plant were calculated as amounting to a total of $800m.

For the processing plant alone, total revenues were estimated at $6.5bn:

Agreed, Mullins, the Nomad is particularly well placed because of its role vis-a-vis Angus but Malcy, too, was positive in his response to their RNS of 19/12.

Agreed, it has taken a lot of preparatory work to get where we are today, with the resumption of the blasting programme at Level 5 just before the Christmas break.

It has required very considerable patience to get to this stage and it may still require more.

But we do know that the gold is there, that it commands a very high premium to the spot price and that it has become much more valuable during the course of this year.

In SP Angel, Angus's Nomad's analyst comment, I noted the following sentence:

"Angus is also continuing efforts to consolidate and refinance the existing debt facilities with its main creditors, in order to better position the balance sheet to raise new capital in support of organic growth, increased production, and potential M&A activity".

To speak of "potential M&A activity" suggests confidence in current discussions and in the future outlook.

RE gold, Alba's share price has a lot of catching-up to do.

We all await a commercial find, of course, but, in the meantime, the value to be found at Clogau has increased very significantly - Alba are sitting, quite literally, on a gold mine.

Dilution occurs when an an increase in equity is not accompanied by an equivalent increase in assets, earnings or cash flow.
