Imho, because of the recent placing and retail offer, the share price has become excessively down-trodden at precisely the moment when the company is set to generate its first revenue and management has the confidence to envisage building a pipeline of new projects for the future.

I don't think I have encountered quite such a contradictory set of circumstances before.

1/ Settlement of fees

The Company also announces that it has settled approximately £20,000 in fees via the issue of 50,860,071 new ordinary shares to two suppliers (doesn't that make for an average share price of 0.3932p?).

Encouraging that suppliers have taken shares in payment of their fees.

2/ So, across the placing, retail offer and suppliers' fees that makes a total of 1,174.3m new shares taking total issued shares to 10,911.2m, an increase of 12.1%.

The share price has declined from 0.045p to 0.032p, a decline of 0.013p or 28.9%. That looks to be excessive.

I have been following this stock for a l o n g time: this is the first time they have been so close to generating revenue.

It is a key moment in the development of the company.

I agree, Mullins, but you do have to read between the lines, as scotalba has said.

From an answer to an investor's question on their site:

"... Production of gold products – we have already announced the production of a limited first run of commemorative gold coins, which will be sold to generate revenues. And we intend to do the same with gold produced from the current bulk sampling programme and gold produced from further waste tip extraction ..."

"And we intend to do the same".

No "ifs", no "buts", Alba is confident they will be producing gold from the bulk sampling programme and further waste tip extraction.

Reminder from EPP's RNS of 21/10:

Maybe in order to pursue the projects in Sweden and Tanzania there was a need to show some financial firepower.

I don't consider myself to be "assuming the happy path" but to be reading precisely what is written in the RNSs (coming from a legal background, I believe GF chooses his words with considerable care):

"... we will continue to seek out exploration and mining opportunities, especially underappreciated ones, which have the potential to add serious value to the Company for the benefit of our shareholders. That is how we found the Amitsoq mine and it is also how we found Clogau itself".

I think we should agree to disagree.

They resumed blasting at Level 5 by last Friday: imho, there is no way GF could think, at the present time, that Clogau "wasn't going to play out".

Their share price is very low, restricting how much they can raise with each placing and meaning, too, that they will seek to raise as little as needed at these price levels.

Some investors seem to have become so accustomed to the placings this year that they have difficulty imagining routine placings can be consigned to the past once Clogau generates material revenue for Alba (and with the gold price where it currently is, almost any gold revenue is likely to be material for the company).

1/ They can't buy at the present time, there is too much going on of which they, understandably, have more knowledge than investors.

2/ Implied in their recent pipeline of new projects is, I believe, considerable confidence in the prospects for Clogau.

Spot price of an ounce of gold currently £2,021.66.

According to the 2012 report of Snowdon Mining Consultants, the Dolgellau gold field may contain 500,000 ounces of gold.

The current market valuation of Clogau is, imho, only just positive, despite the fact that we know it is on the cusp of generating revenue for Alba.

Alba market cap at 0.032p per share: £3.11m (this will increase on admission of the newly-issued shares)

less 34.34% of GROC's market cap (£2.73m): £0.94m

= current market valuation of Clogau and Dolgellau gold field: £2.17m

It is very clear, Clogau has become the model for the pipeline of their future projects.

After all of their preliminary work, they have resumed blasting where they believe they should be blasting at Level 5.

Given the current price of gold (£2,067.86 an ounce) they have no need to find gold in large quantities in order to generate material cash for the company.

They have always maintained very strict control of their outgoings so a significant proportion of any revenue should flow straight through into the bank account and the bottom line.

Given they control 100% of Clogau (and the Dolgellau gold belt), they can seek to market the gold in such a way as to preserve as much as possible of Clogau gold's premium to the spot price.

These last 2 RNSs suggest they are looking forward beyond Clogau in anticipation of the cash it is expected to generate.

Spot gold £2,068.56 an ounce.
