From the 18/07 placing RNS:

Design and specification work in relation to upgrading the existing pilot processing plant at Clogau or in relation to the construction and siting of a new processing plant in order to handle much greater throughputs of ore.

From the 06/11 placing RNS:

Upgrade works in respect of our processing plant to be able to process the gold content from the circa 300 tonnes of ore expected to be extracted from the current blasting programme.

I've asked myself this question: what exactly is it that the commemorative coins are commemorating?

Interesting detail from yesterday's RNS which speaks of pure gold coins AND OTHER PRODUCTS:

"The production and marketing of pure gold coins and other products from the gold extracted from the above exercise".

"... make this an attractive proposition which complements, and is not expected to detract from, the Company's continued focus on the roll-out of blasting and development operations at the Clogau Gold Mine in Wales."

Volume so far (AIM: 130.9m + Aquis: 9.7m =) 140.6m

Volume as a % of existing share capital: 1.4%

(by 1bn to 10.737bn) - "bn" NOT "m"!

The placing increases issued share capital by 10.3% (by 1m to 10.737m) but the share price is down 30% to 0.0315p.

"Alba is also being granted a 12-month option over two other Swedish projects owned by the same owners as Finnsbo ..."

Also, the RNS mentions a potential option on a portfolio of gold licences in East Africa.

This is a pretty wide-ranging RNS.

Does this mean that Alba management are now sufficiently confident about the prospects for Clogau that they are looking further out into the future?

At present, volume is approaching 85m. At, say, an average of 0.03p, that is about £25.5k.

The market wasn't given the opportunity of responding positively to the design of the commemorative coin released yesterday afternoon.

Presumably, knowing this RNS was in preparation, they feared creating, however, briefly, a false market necessitating the release of the RNS before the market opened this morning.

The option itself is for a modest amount, half payable in shares.

Funding to upgrade their processing plant at Clogau is welcome news.

CCS and hydrogen are also

important and currently under-developed technologies for the global transition, implying

progress in this area can help lead the global effort. Contracting arrangements should

be developed with the expectation that these plants operate flexibly, rather than

operating continuously. More will be needed beyond 2030 and will be advantageous if

delivered earlier, potentially enabling a lower cost 2030 system that takes pressure off

other delivery challenges. (p7)

UK onshore gas volumes and daily production rose in August 2024, with volume reaching the highest level for four months. This was mainly because of increased production at the leading onshore gas field at Saltfleetby.
