On the GROC board, in his post of 19/11 at 18:04, Reserved listed a number of the potential sources of funding for GROC and concluded: "SB is in my opinion working hard to minimise the need for a placing ...".

That is my impression, too.

With the price of gold where it is plus the Clogau gold premium, Alba could be close to generating significant revenues which would put into perspective the new potential commitments and lead to a substantial re-rating of the shares.

My comments were even more applicable to GROC itself but there is the question of time and Alba, because of Clogau, are very close now to generating their first revenue.

Hopefully, with the generation of revenue, Alba will become less reliant upon placings, its share price will be re-rated and the financing of its projects will be significantly facilitated.

Post-tax NPV8 of GROC's 2 graphite projects: $179m + $621m = $800m.

Alba's 34.34% stake in GROC is equivalent to $275m

@ 1.27 = £217m

At 0.0295p Alba's market cap including North Wales: £3.22m

This is a very substantial anomaly.

Is the explanation to be found in debt?

No, Alba has no debt although the development of its projects will need to be financed.

If hydrogen becomes thought of as a growth sector for the future, then companies with exposure to it should see the market rating their shares on higher multiples.

Angus Energy submitted a planning application in July 2024 to drill and test four new wells at the Saltfleetby A and/or B sites near Louth. The application was withdrawn on 25 September 2024.

These storage facilities cannot become operational overnight, the government needs to progress matters expeditiously if it is to avoid having surplus energy on its hands.

It (the report) concluded that both salt caverns and depleted gas fields will be required for hydrogen storage, with salt caverns being used for short term responses, and depleted gas fields, such as Rough, used for longer term storage. The modelling illustrates how both types of storage would work together to ensure hydrogen was in the right place, at the right time.
