Amichalskiuk - I've been around for a long time and share buy backs actually never work. Barclays has embarked on buying back £700 million shares and their share price has hardly budged. Aviva did the same a few years and their share kept going down... Microfocus did the same... The evidence seems to suggest that not only are they a waste of money, they actually seem to be related to share price falls.... You can look at it one of two ways - a strength that a company can buy back shares or a weakness in that they recognise the share price is crap and need to do something about it. I think share buybacks are a demonstration of desperation!
