As for AO world making a loss of 11 million despite sales growth of 70% in 2 years. Their share price is 88 pence. Evidence again of no or poor margins. AO is valued at £440 million despite half year sales of £700 + millon.

Sales of clothes definitely gone up but most retailers are busy fools - selling stuff below what inflation suggestd they should. All updates I have seen have big increases in sales but margins are terrible. Lookimg at updates - the short term story has changed.

wolfofworks - the profit margin downgrade was a real mockery. 0.5% seems ridiculously low and looks like they will miss that!!!

HarChris - you would think so. But every online clothing company's share price has been hit hard on trading updates. We havent had one. The more I think about imflationary pressure - I can't see it being transitory - it could be with us for a few years. That puts continual pressure on margins pushing some into loss territory. Could be wrong. Hated when the Fed took the word transitory out of the narrative - adds more uncertainty!

Don't think it will go to £1, but its not exactly looking good. Didn't think Ted Baker would go from £25 to £1 but there you go. Obviously Boohoo's proposition is probably the strongest out there.... but any profit warning will result in a big sp slide. almost every online retailer has reported big cost increases.... boohoo no different.

Well - up to you guys - reddit surely put paid to the shorters in gamestop. No increase in short position means their article was a cheaper way to get the price down. Unbelievable.

And for the record - this is definitely as far as I can tell not anywhere near financial difficulty.

They say there is safety in numbers. I am against my better judgement willing to do a coordinated buy and post a date and time stamp. I'm feeling a bit of a reddit rebel. I'm £50k under - but I'll be damned if I am going to let those bloody hedge funds win. Realise people are trading at a loss so might not be a goer for everyone. Just a thought. There are lots of investors on this forum so could have a big impact.

I've traded for years and in some bad companies like Carillion and Debenhams (note TRADED). never has it dropped like this.

Reallt this is very worrying drop - never seen something as dramatic and I'm in this investing business a long long time.

Oxford Bull - I have seen too many trading updates that on the face of them look good but then the share price drops 20-25-30%.... no thanks.

I sold 50% holding yesterday. I'm tempted to dump the rest. There isn't a floor to this.

NaV is another thing. NAV per share barely 30 pence. Not sure that is a fair thing to use for a growth stock though.

looking at the trades - no evidence of shorting. I watch obsessively! They threw in a few bad articles - no more money from them to short.

Trading for good. Definitely not saying its unachieveable. But the market punishes misses by 10-20% - its too risky for me. I was in at 400k. thats 40-80k down. I am sceptical they can meet that revised target. Great if they do!

Noggers your money. I am down £50k in a month. I only cut positions if I truly believe more downside.

For the record - Boo is a solid / good company but margins could come in at 8% or less. Inflation really has ramped up in all directions. I know Boo is good at managing the bottom line, but a lot of these things seem likely to persist for a few years. I might buy more - but definitely not before an update.
