Brexit effect! Caddy - a lot of British companies are languishing at historic lows unjustifiably!

Wexford - calling the bottom is a mugs game.... bit like waiting for someone in tesco to mark something down another 10% when theres 70% off already.... I am extremely happy to pay what I did.... not bothered if it goes lower in the short term.

Get stuck in - 7 euros is still good value for a long term hold. Bought 200k of bank shares (RBS, Lloyds, AIB and BOI) along with 100k aviva and 50k rmg. I've never seen such good value. Will up my holdings shortly if they fall more

People looking to see if they can get it cheaper and cheaper - a bit like looking for marked down bargains in the shop... eventually everyone wants it when its super cheap - like now.... only thing is bargains only hang around for a while.

Bought 18k of BIRG and AIBG shares. NAV of BIRG is c. 8 euro - 5 euro gap! Too undervalued - not just undervalued.

I'm waiting for €20k transfer from my savings to buy.... takes two days to arrive. Across the board - shares have in relative terms never been so cheap. BIRG valued at 3 billion euro is ridiculous! Absolutely ridiculous! It's not a company that goes out of fashion - its integral to the Irish economy.

€1 - whoever thinks this is worth €1.29 less than the lowest point of the crash needs sectioned immediately. The contexts of 2009 and today are entirely different - light and day! That would value BOI at 3 cents in old money - bonkers!!!!

caddy - its timing and nothing else. Shares go up and down because we are dealing with silly human beings who get scarred when they feel a breeze through a door. This is a great company and I'm happy to hold my shares in them.

BTW - I'm not investing any more into BOI - AIBG directors have shown faith in their bank by buying shares - so that's where my investments are going.

Well it only got to €2.32 during the worst of the last Great recession - when GDP shrank 9%+. Now the banks carry three times capital reserves and have much stricter lending critera. So this rather dumb comment about €1 is just about as laughable as I have ever seen. If anyone gives any credence to it - sign yourself into a shelter for the mentally incapacitated! €1 would value BOI at c. 1.25 billion which is probably nearly what they will make in less than two years. Some dumb arses on here!

This is at the level that a Wilbur Ross type financier will have his interest piqued! Just far too undervalued!!!

Always heartening reading the upbeat comments on this board. Particularly given stocks in the UK are ultra cheap now.... plenty to be upbeat about. Have a good weekend everyone!

Caddy - poor performance????? the SP performance has been poor but their financial performance has been very good reflecting the growing dividend. EPS last year grew 7 pence.... NAV per share is now 4.30+. They have also grown profits this year. As my financial advisor says - it might go up and down but its a share that you don't need to worry about - solid company with 11 billion spare capital and 2.8 FCH. Not many companies are in such fortunate position.

Aviva definitely undervalued and has a lovely dividend.

Hotdog - you are extremely negative and pessimistic - even more than I! I am a remainer and even I think this is overdone. I can't wait for the UK to leave the EU - they never were a willing partner in the bloc. They can now take their place in world as an independent country. With any luck Scotland and NI will also take their place outside of the UK. Great days ahead!

New short on Legal and General - explains why share price has been depressed. Personally think a short on this share is mad!

Senator. They have a healthy balance sheet as does AIB. That's what matters now - more than anything else. Could they withstand a 2009 recession based on current capitalisation without having to go to Government - on balance the answer is 'yes'.

Senator - they hold cash to deal with potential defaults. Look back at 2009 accounts and today and you'll see banking has changed significantly. Banks are extremely conservative and cautious in who they are lending to, how much they are lending and the security they accept. They also hold much greater reserves than they did in 2009. In the absence of Brexit - its likely this share would be trading between 7 and 10 euro. The correction is almost all Brexit related. I am a buyer and make no apology for that. Where you see red lights - I see green!
