MM doesn't want the noise to augment, so he's trying to silence them. With minimal effort I might add. Is he paranoid? Probably. He's a narcissist for sure.

Let see him try to do that with a legitimate heavyweight Activist Investor. Although that is dependent on one actually bothering to build a stake in the first place.

Who knows, maybe the gents at KLSO can engage one before the AGM.

I never said that Kelso's opinion is of no concern - what I said was that I believe their "influence" is pretty weak.

Imagine if someone like Elliot bought a stake in THG - MM would be genuinely cr@pping his pants, knowing (a) their stake would be considerable and (b) the level of clout they have the game. KLSO (at this stage) have neither.

He would not be able to swat away Elliot (or an II in that capacity) anywhere near as easily as he can with KLSO. So it's not about him not being bothered by KLSO, it's the fact that he needs minimal effort to disarm them.

Moniman, I have no time for MM particularly. However, I dont know why you keep throwing around the "corruption" word. as there is nothing wrong (morally or legally) with MM trying to retain control of his company. And before you say "it's the shareholders company" well, he is the largest shareholder. Until an Institution or legitimate Activist Investor has the balls to build up a proper stake in the company, he can of course run as he sees fit.

So far, no-one has genuinely tried to build a decent stake in THG. That is telling within itself.

Crafty - I don't think they had an advantage per se. I believe (for what its worth) that they saw THG as a takeover target and hoped to make a quick buck. To be fair, a decent proportion of this BB believes the same and has invested on this thesis. It's certainly not wrong and SOTP valuation supports this.

Once they realised that this wasn't going to be straightforward, they began chiming in about strategy, Listing status, chairman etc. The question that has always dogged KLSO is whether they are powerful enough (or powerless) they are to make a difference. I know that people will pipe up and say that MM buying KLSO shares is a sign of their influence, but I still liken this to the analogy of swatting away flies. The amount of money he has to pay to buy a stake is pretty painless for him.

Whilst I firmly believe that the AGM will be a non-event, it would be nice to be proven wrong

- Share price moved initially from 56p to 78pm but has now retraced to 68p

- KLSO have (once again) vocalised their concerns RE THGs strategy and have publicised their intention to vote against re-appointment of Chair.

- MM has bought more shares in KLSO, sitting a shade under 10%

Of course, the drop isn't great, but I wouldn't pay much attention to the UT volume
