Seems to me that if you really lost all that profit then you have made some very bad investment decisions with no-one to blame except yourself. Or you are lying.

The tactics of someone with a very large ego

MH01 - if you read my post, I was looking at the effects of the elements on NCM's balance sheet, not whether they had any intrinsic value of their own. The fact that you say their associated costs are accounted within AISC shows you agree they negatively affect tha balance sheet - they cut into profits. When mining stops, their costs will cease to be offset by mining revenue but still have to be met.

RA & CP

Agree that Telfer should be seen as an entity. CP isn't sure whether the value is low. No doubt he'll have anothe 10 posts telling us he might be wrong. RA sensibly breaks down the constituent elements within Telfer. However, what is important it the financial affect of those elements to NCM (&NEW) on whose balance sheet they will remain unless they dispose of all or part.

Accommodation and runway - both liabilities for upkeep & maintenance, currently (reducingly) offset by mining profits. No value to NCM when mine closes. Processing plant - the only element which has ongoing value to NCM, but only from processing Hav ore or any other ore they can attract in the future. The mine - many hundreds of millions liability on their balance sheet for closure and reconstitution.

The bean counters would almost certainly recommend disposal to avoid the future liability. To do that they would have to sell as an entity. But their problem is that they can only sell for what someone in willing to pay. They are at the sharp end of a stick.

Could you explain how any PI can be 'pushed aside'? IIs and other 'big boys' can only buy shares that others decide to sell.

Why? 'The Market' (including PIs) has been kept updated regularly about drilling results, including areas which would not feature as part of an updated MRE relevant to the mining plan. 'The Market' is well aware of the improved data relating to the ore bodies.

Wrong - It's all measured by whether or not GGP can become a gold producer. If you're only interested in the SP at any stage before they get there, or fail to do so, you're a speculator who got his quick profit bet wrong and not an investor.

Well said Bamps - pretty much my own thoughts. Nobody who invests in AIM shares should expect an easy ride. I've never seen one that hasn't gone up and down like a roller coaster, so it might seem there are great opportunities for quick profits on the rises and falls, but lots of those are for no apparant reason and most of those who try to anticipate them for short-term trades or spread bets (like many of the green bin brigade here) get their fingers burnt. The day traders are up against the professionals, who have access to resources and information (and tactics) not available to PI punters.

Much better to research, pick a minnow you believe can grow into a salmon, and settle back for the long haul.
