It is amazing how some companies attract negativity like a magnet. Val is such a share. While sometimes a negative poster may wish to make a valid observation, it is difficult to comprehend why some individuals would waste countless hours, and in some cases years and thousands of posts talking down a share.
It is reasonable to assume that in most cases the posters in question are not invested, though previous losses in Val could result in frustration/anger expressed as negative posts. Below are listed some of the reasons why certain posters may display such negativity, though I’m sure there are more that might have been missed:
1) Shorting the stock – A valid reason if the poster believes the SP is destined to fall. A very dangerous game on AIM though as an unexpected RNS could see the SP multi-bag within hours.
2) Trying to buy in lower – it could be the poster sees Val as a great opportunity but would like to see the SP a little lower before buying-in. Again, a dangerous game with so much potential for an explosive RNS.
3) Traders – The AIM is a natural habitat for this class of punter. Any daily update, good or bad can impact the SP by +/- 30% and often considerably more. It is inevitable that traders will appear, ramping or berating the share hoping to make quick gains.
4) Boredom – With some individuals spending such a large part of their daily (and in some cases, nightly) lives repeating the same drivel, this has to be a distinct possibility.
5) Bitterness/ anger – As above, investors who have had their fingers burnt in the past may show their resentment by continual negative posts. Obviously, in doing this they seem to overlook that it was their own decision to invest at that time.
6) Jealousy – It may be that a poster has lost their funds elsewhere in a poor investment (eg 4D, Harland, FUM, SCLP, etc) and while they see significant potential in Val, they simply have nothing left to invest.
7) Vindictiveness – in every aspect of life, there are unfortunately people who resent everyone and everything they encounter in life. The glass half-empty individuals. Instead of appreciating their health/blessings they exude negativity and spend their days lashing out at others.
8} Personality clashes – Maybe a negative poster has had clashes with an invested individual, not necessarily on the Val forum, and followed them here to stalk the latter.
9) The hero scenario – Finally, we come to those posters who believe they are obliged to save others from those investors promoting the share they have bought into. Always ironic to see posters spending much of their lives warning punters off Val when their posts on other shares have cost gullible investors hundreds of thousands, probably millions enticing them into some of the worst investments ever to float in the UK.
If you qualify as one of those above, please feel free to tick those boxes applicable. I have to restrict to a maximum of 3 unfortunately, as some would clearl
