Chris Heminway, Exec-Chair at Time To ACT, explains why now is the right time for the Group to IPO. Watch the video here.
Quote right, hope you got your spurs on this is a wiled mare. IMO hedging in both directions will make you profit, just a question of proportioning and time not so timing although it would make it perfection.
Red, Tak can ask for extension, can stop shp selling bits off buy making conditional offer for d whole co, whatever first offer for shp will be it will be rejected by shp bod, seriously undervalued co, then haggling might ensue. Whatever comes from Tak will cause initial violent sp reaction in one direction soon to be reversed in opposite. All this jmo..
Or maybe it is just the nature of d beast. Ride this mare and enjoy, I say
My mistake Redtom, I thought u were talking about shps debt cost. Anyhow, rodeo continues, indices down on trump tax, flight to defensives, pity cna is not registering that mood....
As I mentioned before, this mare is for riding only. helping hend wil come from all sorts of friendly and knowledgable experts opinions and roomers to be given us well after this latest event. I was happy to slice my long at 38.5 thinking jump was to big and to fast to be sustained taking a hedge shortly after. Agreed with whoever said that this situation will not flush out any new bidders or at least not till shp bod recommends bid to shareholders. Again likelihood of that is not massive but not to be excluded in a life of this mare. That said, IMO, sp should pass 38 again, possibly before summer. As to Japanese business culture, I cant remember Japanese government that had not been implicated or found guilty of a corruption, cos Fuji , takada, Mitsubishi, Toyota..... you will find it that Japan is inhabited by humans therefore expect not massively different behaviour than anywhere else, money makes world go around, around.... Btw if debt is at ridiculously low level why is shp straggling to make envious profit, reduce debt much faster than currently, restore bods credibility.... My broker has long only on adr, still?
As good guess as any https://www.telegraph.co.uk/business/2018/04/01/takedas-debts-raise-doubts-ability-finance-shire-bid/ At least confirms I wasnt the only one disliking and mistrusting shp bod for the same reasons as experts did -do. Nevertheless, show must go on meaning rodeo
The story goes like this; there was a little girl. She went to school, studied hard and did sports. With time , after doing what she was supposed to do, she started to blossom and curve up. She started to be noticed by boys and man, getting compliments, invites to events....soon did she learn how to carry her self and benefit. First boyfriend was younger than her, she learned what she needed fast and went through him quickly. Second boyfriend was her age, slightly more work but more education too. Third, forth ,... every next older and more experienced than previous. She was getting brainier and more knowledgeable but time was ticking. She wanted to settle and put her feet up. She started socialising with Suzy K. Known mach maker. Result, sugar daddy made an offer without sampling first although she had her nickers down to her knees. She was so happy, so was Suzy K. who had prearranged cutt of the pie. But family leaned on sugar daddy and wedding was off. She was distrott but continued looking and dating. After few respectful boyfriends, every subsequent greater than previous, but no sugar daddy in sight. She got frustrated, found sugar daddys son and proposed him. After getting her commitment that she will cook and clean and perform on events and bead, he said yes. Little did she know what she got her self in, boy(husband now) had a shaky job, no ambition and she had to pay for wedding, he wanted grande one. She realised shed passed her pick and is entering decline zone of her life. She couldnt divorce ( to expensive), she was getting tired, saggy, visibly aged and could not fight off competition, younger girls, reflecting in job stagnation and ever diminishing social life. Out of blue comes new sugar daddy and whisper in her ear he might marry her and her useless husband together. Instinctively she reached for her panties....she was sweet, bright, hard working girl and now... In short summary of today: 800 points up, 400 down 150 up, 150 down, almost all on autopilot. Total 1500 points greater than 1000 points on Dow the other week (for me). Now that Im not so much long only anymore, Id be happy with 30 or sub and with 45 and above. Btw second sugar daddy knew about first one but thinks he has bigger duck. Common self-delusion with megalomaniacs, ups she had a duck too when she married, is she really well respected maturing lady or a old queen? Looking back, well who cares
So went over 58 then( my personal best short), on significantly lower revenues but co made actual profits then. Mcap over 45bln. Fast forward couple years, relentless acquisitions-overpaying for those, debt ( not inexpensive) pile, almost double of number shares Isued , still no divi to sing about, significantly reduced bods shareholding participation....on a bright side, Molder and Redtom, bod did very well with their remuneration packaging and 1/4 price share options. When looking to guess sp price and potential offer to be made look at mcap v total no shares. IMO offer can not be less than abs few years ago, which is about this level, but cant be much more than 10-15 above it. 45 max and should it achieve 50+ Ill take another big shot and carry it over onto new owner should they be creasy enough to pay so much for shp with all the outstanding issues. That being said, it would suit me perfectly if sp should come to that level. Sill holding on to my hat, ride on rainy day , rodeo, rodeo...
This is d year shp could be bought, nex year might not be so good for equities. Shp bod has engendered and over engendered financials, 800 points swing, just so far, is tempting to finish working day or week or year, before 11am. Now sp goes down a bit, than when Nasdaq opens will go up a bit,IMO, buckle up and dig those spurs in, hands on hats and enjoy rodeo. I reduced my long, happy to leave it on autopilot and go out enjoying the sunshine. Dam, it is pising down?
Shp on Nasdaq preopen points to 4.5% up? Been there on lse earlier, will it come back and sustain it? Paradoxically my broker doesnt allow shorts on adr. Having long only for couple of weeks, on most contracts, would limit their ability to get panthers loose money, should sp continue this way.Either way rodeo continues...
Grocery shopping habits are different in us to uk as in distant to population concentration. Toronto is litmus test if Ocado could expand into North America. Should it deploy tec elsewhere but just in grocery than there would be something to hope for as in divi -returns. Personally I believe that should Ocado pop into China market in any form would be a winner. Concentration of population to distance and willingness of same to shop online is a winer for all operators there. Any and all of this possibilities will take long time to crystallise hence, IMO, together with geographical shenanigans, mcap v reruns = sp drop
How dude landed from a plane warring jump suit and maybe underwear managed to become home and not inexpensive viacle owner? There is no better business than war and conflict ( if one is positioned for it but not directly involved) but I cant see much if any $ for Russia here, short of traditional invasion and pillage. Considering they never tried it in d past one wonder if mr nice guy J C. Might be onto something? Btw, privatisation of national resources and infrastructure would benefit all, IMO, and in case of cna getting rid of uk ops would liberated to grow.
D reason our brokers forced closed our shorts few weeks back is they known sp will reverse. Plenty of free shares here. My broker allowed shorts last week and Im waiting for them to give me same bs excuse and close it again.
U both right that there are strong (opposite) views on Ocado. Off d top of my head I think this was 3rd placing, they were down to 30 ish mil cash last year so financing was a issue. Exelent price achieved 4.5 ish comparing to than sp, which supports your views. That will keep co going this year but not for long enough to any miningfull profits from new ops imo. I must park aside my likes of tec achievements here and look at numbers. Marg is negligible, no divi, if u half property and equipment ( substantial amortisation ) numbers aint that pretty. As to markets moods nothing could be excluded but again ,imo, greater likelihood is on down. I dont give much for brokers tips, they are almost all hedged., the other day Deutche upgraded JE bumped up holding and days later downgrade it. We all know deutche is neutral so that means they bumped up short too, since not only short dont have to report it.... and so on.....
U r right about T r us and map... ocdo has tiny op marg. no divi no profit, regular RIs . I said same about few other cos with huge debt ratio ( snorters dream) u and I can start and grow business financed by borrowing if we could find someone crazy enough to lend us money. If real profits so great why RI and growing borrowing ? Technology, parallel to ocds exist and no one of those cos with it is minting it. Point Im trying to make, at some point investors would want to see real returns as in divi and stable sp. ocdo and many others are seen as growth stocks, at some point they will have to demonstrate they are viable cos. Same as some countries will always be jus developing and never developed countries.
3-4 bln if u put 0 to intangibles. Or whatever u make of this set of numbers https://www.investing.com/equities/centrica-balance-sheet
Id say pretty intelligent response on evidence presented, but then again, we far to often fall for ( induced) perceptions served to us with those with agendas. Politicians, blockers, bankers, journalists they all work on selling us a product they have. They do it cos they learned it is easy to do it to us, gelable superficial and to lazy to think. Park artistic impressions, VE, noise level aside and do basic maths equations. As to Jeramy, look at his tax returns and compare it to those more patriotic ( as in always happy and ready to demonise Russia, go to any war cose destruction and misery to others for their own good, likes of Hilary Ben). Looking at those Would you think dude is lining his pockets with every wind blowing or dude is hones caring and shearing.
I heard nothing, just a guess how this best might behave. A bit of a wishful thinking too since no more shorts left and filing a bit exposed being long only, dont count daily weekly trades. One finger never faraway from hedge, but wouldnt mind if sp turns a bit positive for a sustainable period.
Co that makes no profit, pay no divi and does RI every time it runs out of cash to pursue growth , after being manipulated to mcap of 4bln, yes I wonder would it be more logical to be positive on and expect sp to continue to rise or would it be more logical to take profits and change direction?
This mare needs to be ridden, digg in those spurs
