Lloyds and LLOYDS Bowmaker were not at the captive OEM end of mkt eg in house finance that some car and motorcycle suppliers had vertically integrated into.

It was more of a whole of mkt independent/ panel supplier for new car and much used car stuff. It also was on fringes of the sub prime stuff too on used sports cars to independent specialist dealers.

They will imho have a chunky exposure having looked at their portfolio especially which includes say Ferrari if Ferrari finance not forthcoming to buyer as first port of call, Porsche/Audi / Bentley If VWFS finance not forthcoming. The were a very high 2nd source BMW supplier if their in- house Aphera (think they were called) not available). Likewise Ducati, Suzuki, Mercedes, Aston second port of calls - CLose Bros also big second ports with Santander, ING, Toyota etc typical 3rd port of calls).

Monday might see a chunky drop to S.P.if war chest inadequate and or any sideways exposure likely).

I think all DC cases will be covered. Remember 09-21 bank interest rates were tiny 1-2% so easy for dealers to squeak in a % or 2 on top (making up say 25-50% of interest fees) and thus I think practically will all be guilty of charging excessive.

Worth pointing out that industry research states that car manufacturer with captive or in house OEM finance less likely to have DC arrangements. Lloyds bowmaker at the multi-lender third party broker end and I feel higher risk as such of big discrepancies.

The final non category of non DC but overcharged up to 2021 and post21 (DC outlawed) overcharged will be on a

case by case basis and a bit messy imho.

This outcome will ring fence 5-15 billion and Lloyds have roughly set up funds for this though might be bit skinny

Think share price is broadly baked in but I suspect 5-10% rise might sustain at day end trading as the counterfactual was quite scary.

Only post 2021 did interest rates rise significantly.

Well Cev (and this is tongue-in-cheek of course) but at 10 I was feeling the idiot (and by implication you had a piquant too) as I sold 44.6% of my RR Holding about few weeks back and put the whole lot as an EEE top up.

That tranche counterfactual.....

RR has risen about 12% and EEE dropped about 18% - net result is an on paper knock of about a mint 1984 UR quattro Audi had my eye on ! Your paper knock no doubt more eye watering ....

Of course I'm not comparing apples with apples and EEE could easily quadruple in 6 months .... but sobering nevertheless
