Trello an acquaintance of mine was very senior in the civil service.

His final salary at 55 was £450k and pension contributions by Govt were v high - He tells me he is now is on circa 2/3 that as a pension, so c £300k p.a.

He spends his entire time playing golf around the world and seeing Coldplay (I know!), and on those river cruises that the smug types ('thinking persons holiday' is the company mantra ) seem to like, and fancy-dan Sandals (no kids) Resorts.

I ran a company and contributed like crazy via SIPP pension but didn't get anywhere near this level.....nb £300K p.a. income (eg using 4% rule) you'd need £7-8 million in the sipp, which would be c £200,000 p.a. contrib. before capital growth/compounding.

Nothing like this sir, but mkts been good to some of my other lower risk portfolio stocks eg Rolls Royce, Aviva, Santander, Vodafone, Metro Bank, IAG, Lloyds Bank - gains circa 15-50% in 6 months. Av weighted 31% over 6 months.

Not advice/dyor as ever.

Perhaps obvious but tracking last few weeks discourse, when sp is sticky/in decline there is unpleasantness and when its doing ok it disappears (to an extent).

For the statos' the correlation is circa 0.81 or very high and is also a causation factor (one causes the other).

Worth understanding our primitive drivers and seeking to overcome them.
