I do not attend AGMs as I do not fall into share love-traps. My original post when starting this thread was a simple cash flow statement. I do not share my detailed workings.

PS_The statement 'We will have to' seems to be similar to a cult member statement. Unless you are part of the inner circle you are just a bystander - there is no 'We' unless you are part of the decision making process which is unlikely to occur unless you are a significant shareholder.

Listening to and trusting a lorded poster who is not prepared to address a potential placing issue raises a coloured flag to me. Either there is significant interest from a well funded partner who is prepared to pony up more than a few million or there is not. If there is not the interest then cash flow issues need to be acknowledged - the so called elephant in the room.

Why deflect instead of answering the concern unless you are acknowledging the inevitable? You can keep ramping but sentiment analysis says to me that the 5p support level may soon be threatened and if that happens the potential dilutional effect is just magnified.

I treat AIM shares in the same manner I used to trade horse races - if you have inside information you can manipulate punters otherwise you need to trade the punters [i.e. shareholders] sentiments and I am not convinced that 5p is going to hold as the year-end approaches.

You cannot wait until funding is exhausted before raising more - and, if there are trials starting 'by early' 2021 then the cash flow burn rate is likely to increase. I take a cold-hearted approach to cash consuming businesses; especially when the charts show an unpleasing trend.

However, it is worth noting that a bio company I am invested in recently made €120m investment buying Expedeon's Proteomics and Immunology business [at a p/e ratio of 130] so the sky can be the limit if revenue / future revenue is assured.

Your comment 'enough funding till Feb 2021' explains it all... My simple cash flow analysis highlights the exact problem. If they do not raise funds before the the end of the financial year [30/4/20] accounts are released the accounts are likely to have a qualified auditors report which will make further fund raising more difficult.

Surely you would want financing issues clarified before the accounts are issued and preferably not solved by a post balance sheet event. I would expect that Vulpes would want this dealt with as well as they have their investors interests to look after.

But of course, everyone can wait and trust those who believe that this is worth £8 a share but if you went to your bank and asked for a loan based on a potential value of £8 a share when it trades at 5p they might find the collateral is worth less than 5p not £8.

I see the ugly P-Word is coming up again... End of April SCLP had £4.5m and raised £3.9m [gross] from Vulpes. Call it a generous £8.5m but they are burning through around £6m according to the last 2 sets of annual accounts. So unless some sort of deal comes along more cash may be required before the end of April next year so that the auditors can sign off the accounts without a material uncertainty clause.

Nothing beats a placing as an X-Mas present - it will be interesting to see if, and at what price, it happens.

There are still 2 serious issues that need to be considered:

TRX have stated that they need to be 'recapitalised' - personally I expect that they will need around $15m. There is also the issue of Link liquidating the Woodford holding and they are likely to do this before any fundraising takes place. Whether they will get a better price than Invesco got when they liquidated their shareholding is open to debate.

Investing in a company that has a distressed seller and in need of recapitalisation is not for the faint hearted. Get it right and you could do well; get it wrong and you could be burnt. As always DYOR and only risk what you feel comfortable with whilst being equally wary of rampers and derampers.

I thought it is worth much more but the costs of extraction to date have been exceeding extraction costs - negative cash flow does not help, especially when the hammer of dilution and selling prevails.
