The Great Slump was bad and the only way it ended was by the ending of the second world war and the associated spending, taxation and regulation. That was a decade and a half of economic misery. A repeat has started.

Some could argue that there has already been a decade of austerity and that there has been non-stop conflict in parts of the world, but we are still looking at years of pain before a deregulatory economic splurge. Maybe Brexit will bring the splurge sooner rather than later but with the current disrespect to science shown by political leaders that might not end well.

I may be misguided but my money is going into the food supply industry, energy efficiency and self-reliance. And when some fekkers come onto my land with bad intentions they better not wake the dogs up as they have not been socialised.

Some think that VAL is undervalued by at least an order of magnitude, if not more. As such they would expect non-core assets to be worth more than £2k - they may be reassessing their valuations and deciding to sell.

Some will be happy to get the opportunity to get cheap shares again; some will be even happier if those who bought in the placing do not get an opportunity to make a profit off a short term investment, especially if the buy price drops beneath the placing price.
