The only share I am holding that has done a placing on me recently is Sigmaroc - done at 85p after I paid 87p, and they are now trading at 112.5p, so I cannot really complain.

Watch out for ANGS this week - the spike in gas wholesale prices seems to have made it through to the average punter, and it will not take much buying pressure to create a self-sustaining rise. I expect that the management there will use the opportunity to raise some working capital, which they seem to desperately need.

I don't play with fire, but volume may treat day traders well if they jump fast enough.

When I went to edit an order for next Saturday I was met with the message above but was still able to add the frozen goods I wanted. Maybe the trick for customers is to order further in advance and include frozen goods when they make the order?

An unexpected headline...

Any gas producing company that has spare gas to sell at spot prices must be in for a windfall whilst prices spike over the Winter.

Unfortunately ANGS does not produce any and has hedged approximately 70% of a conservative estimate of production from half way through next year at a fraction of current prices. The company is also considered to be close to a financing event by some. AIM is not always a rational market so ANGS's share price may well spike, but expect some selling into any spike and for the company to at least consider the appetite for a placing to provide funds for working capitol.

No doubt your post will have given encouragement to some of the resident rampers as well as some who are sitting on losses who would like to see the price up towards their escape price so expect an onslaught of positive posts from before the market opens tomorrow. Not enough power causes fertiliser companies to shut down because of high gas prices. CO2 is a by product from the fertiliser industry, so there is now a shortage of CO2. Now there is no dry ice for using in delivery vans [Ocado and other supermarkets use it in their vans to deliver frozen goods].

And - it is used in the "humane slaughter" of turkeys, etc. Now not enough gas to stun them before slaughter and then no dry ice to keep them frozen.

The Private Eye has been writing for years that the mini-energy companies in this country will fail when there is a spike in prices, as they do not have the financial muscle to undertake long term hedges or duck and dive in the market.

Low and behold - some will fail next week. A million customers are likely to be affected. Remember, if the Private Eye knows then all of Westminster knows, so do not fall for any show of surprise from GOV or their political masters.
