kenny - it is a crisis if you or your family need access to health care and the services are already unable to cope, dealing with covid. Car crash, cancer, births etc; the virus does not care.

They are diagnosing enough infections to fill Wembley every day; if the exponential spread continues, it will be every few hours. The health service is going to buckle if demand rapidly increases with infections.

19 games over the weekend postponed because of infections in the teams. What about the infections in the crowds; you know, the ones that infect other people in the stadium, in the pubs, public transport etc.

The rumour is that Doris is going to announce Plan C on Boxing Day [not cancelling Xmas = political win] to start on or before New Year's Day. With Omicron doubling every 2 days and an estimate of 30k Omicron infections today, there could be a million infections a day by the time they shut up shop.

It is highly unlikely to get that high because people will start taking their own precautions, but allowing Boxing Day sport and horse racing to go ahead will be fool hardy.
