A cynic might think that it was all planned and the planning started when they started posting to prevent extra shares being issued at 11p. I think they read some of the realistic woe stories posted by the less convinced and realised that they might get a chance to load up in the low pennies later this year.

Why else would they have been so against raising money to pursue the plans of acquiring businesses at a price nearly 25% higher?

The reduction in supply will increase spot prices and make high yielding exploration projects much more attractive, especially if they are in a location with cheap energy sources. Must make solar and grid scale battery options more attractive, especially in equatorial areas where consistent solar can be expected year round.

There is a school of thought that if the FED pauses or reverses rate increases then it may be seen as sign that they 'know' the problem in the banks is bigger than the market does and that this acknowledgment will spark further fear and flights to safety.
