What I fail to understand is why people even think there was an IPO.

Too many punters want... supply and demand means it is likely to end up over valued.

In fairness to MATD, have a look at their share price chart. The raise is far more forgivable than most serial placers.

A disappointing company that I have been following for a while [IPO at #1; 2 years later at 18p] announce battery JV with Glencore. Interesting but they will probably have the begging bowl out again so there might only be a short term spike

Nvidia is around 20x the m/cap of Intel... Intel will be launching 1.8nm chips in the next couple of years. Current cutting edge chips are on 3nm; 1.8 is going to give a serious performance bump and power consumption drop.

Some will / might have read the reviews of the new Microsoft CoPilot laptops that have been released with the 3nm Snapdragon X-Elite chips... the performance is so good that Apple rushed out a new chip in an iPad to prove that they were not going to get left behind. The 18A chips Intel are preparing are going to be another big step forward; the step forward that makes on-device AI much better [and more secure as your data never leaves the device] .

I do not think that Nvidia should ever have got to the price it did... the article is worth a read.

Yeah - the cash problem was highlighted in their last set of accounts, which caused the sp to crash. They have taken a 5% carried interest in some of their recent exploration project; if they do manage to locate some Tier1 deposits, there could be good long term value.
