A few noteworthy points:

The protein based RSV vaccines are proving to give lasting immunity, but there is only data for under 2 years so far, so there may be a clinical need for repeated vaccination every few years. Another reason the CDC is not recommending annual vaccines is because the Pfizer vaccine has an elevated risk of Guillain-Barré syndrome - there is no such elevated risk with GSK's.

The recommendation is still there for an annual vaccine for over 75s and others over 60 with other risk factors. Those turning 60 and others over 60 who have yet to be vaccinated are still recommended to get an RSV vaccine.
