Big battery projects coming along: Hornsdale Australia - 129MWh. Gupta's looking at 140MWh site. Developers looking at 400MWh site. Korea - 175MWh UK - Stocking 50MWh opened. Proposal for 350MWh battery in Kent US - 42MWh plant finished, 1200MWh battery plant scheduled for 2020. Tesla looking at 730MWh plant. Germans allegedly trying to build a 700MWh underground salt-brine redox battery (not lithium) in former caves.

Very good for a laymans introduction (be advised there will eventually be technical concepts discussed!). The 401 trial is finished, overheads are primarily labour and possibly legal fees.

The 201 trial - I assume is paid up front to a certain extent, it would make little sense to ask a small AIM bio to pay 12 months down the line, too much risk, I am not familiar with how the commercial terms work performing a trial on behalf of a company.

Could be several reasons, someone loading up in advance, a broker moving a few larger accounts, etc. But last time the VAL directors dipped into their pockets they did buy 3x £10k lots:

Antelope, is it beyond the realms of possibility that the banks are being all doom and gloom because they want to jack up the bond debt rates a few %? Frankly a lot of the bank/analyst reports on BCN this week seemed to end with the same phrase about "raising the bond interest rate", so perhaps some silly games being played.

There are some wobbles in China about whether the subsidies are going to be expanded, but frankly I live in London and the move to electric is moving along fast now. I see Tesla's driving around my area almost every day now on my morning commute, and frankly every 3rd car is a Toyota Prius.

Khan announcing the larger roll out of electric busses in London, the London black cab taxi is now 100% electric. It's strange watching the pace now....true it'll take a while before the shires catch up, but the air here is filthy.

Valirx Bioinnovation, it's hard to tell and I am by no means a professional.

Scanning through the company accounts, it appears to be a non-trading holding company, probably for the purpose of managing a 61% controlling share in "Valipharma Ltd", which appears to be generally controlled and owned by Valirx Ltd.

According to the Valirx website, "ValiPharma is our therapeutics division with a promising cancer treatment in development, VAL201. The division also has access to a wholly owned innovative drug development platform, GeneICE."

All in all, I would hazard a guess that Valirx Bioinnovation is the business division of Valirx that contains the IP of VAL201 and GeneICE, for example selling compounds in the future.

Timenottiming, thanks for sharing that, my gut feeling is that Syncona are focussed on mainly gene therapy/viral treatments that don't perfectly match VAL201, saying that the only commercial and profitable business so far within the portfolio is a rather nice prostate imaging drug (basically an amino acid tracer that gets preferentially absorbed by cells with increased metabolic behaviour, i.e. usually tumours), so they have room for scope for innovation.

It has crossed my mind that should Valirx go into administration, depending on the contract between CRT and Valirx (which apparently covered commercial rights with royalty payments, if I read the marketing PR correctly), that the VAL201 rights may potentially go back to CRT (...which is now part of the Syncona group, I believe).

Johan, Syncona was formed through the merger of the old 'Cancer Research UK Technology fund', BACIT and the Wellcome Trust. Oddly enough, the Cancer Research fund originally sold the VAL201 rights to Valirx back in 2008..!

Interesting results today at Syncona, an interesting UK portfolio company with a similar investment structure to Valirx in some manners (portfolio based oncology structure, + additional funds/trust investments). The differences being scale and funding, some very interesting ideas and actively selling prostate cancer diagnostics that could potentially complement VAL201 treatment.

Would suggest that Syncona would be interesting to the typical Valirx investor as a hedge for the riskier side of cancer investments. I guess I'm waiting for Satu to unleash the hounds and drop some lovely 201 PSA results at 8mg.....bizarrely I have recently become quite patient with VAL. I think I just stopped caring about the day to day shenanigans and accept that in December there should be a nice package of data available, one must hope!

Remind me, was the last VAL201 PSA update the poster from March 2017 (including 3 decent results @ 4mg dosing with moderate effiacy). Or did we see some at 5mg?

Agreed, it does seem that the clinical trial has been reported, another step of progress.

I assume that DFKZ are still doing the GeneICE research with the old EU grant, I occasionally browse the web to see if they have any PR out about chromatin gene inactivation. It's difficult to speculate what they are up to or what the patent landscape is with that one.
