Problem is that Elon can be both a liability and a blessing for crypto at times.Imagine a 'twitter famous, big baller' aim investor who is both a ramper and deramper!!

I agree it will be a longer wait potentially before mr market recognises our true value but it will come in spurts imo.The other ilmenite ftse play Kenmare has only been rerated during the last year due to the strong demand factor for ilmenite and has been profitable for a fair while afaik.That's just the ilmenite obviously.Staying positive until i feel there's reason for the opposite... however i haven't been here for years in this one.

Perhaps sells willingly mopped up by somebody without crashing the price.

Isn't this (or wasn't this a Woodford pick?).I still remember the sp rise when they announced their us expansion plans i think a few years back and it reached 5 quid or so i think.Shame as it seemed a great idea and still see the odd one or two purplebrick for sale boards up in and around my local provincial surrey town.
I was just on brick's wiki page and wondered who one of the other names mentioned alongside Woodford as an early backer was and it's only the fabled founded of Wonga.Rather unfortunate.The capita bloke was mentioned too.

Yes sharesoc are the only avenue pretty much so far.The 'movement' oer in the US is further progressed imo, however still very disorganised, with their 'short squeeze' agendas.Aim need some sort of reform anyways imo and i don't believe it necessarily needs to increase the listing and maintenance fees of aim substantially.

Plus so much volume is coming from options activity nowadays.As an ex options trader Tom (creator of tastytrade and sold sinkandswim to tdameritrade) knew this!

He knows where the business is going, and only accepted ig investment as he really wants to scale and produce novel financial products to trade 24/7 and realised this was the right time to scale and he needed the right partners and finance.

Very shrewd guy by his record imo!

Love Tom at Tastytrade.He is a very shrewd investor having already created 2 extremely successful businesses from starting as an option trader in Chicago.He is really on the retail traders side and they know it.He saw the trend years ago with his daily broadcasts with 'the Bat' etc.. 10 years ago of the power of the retail trader.Great investment by IG.
Tastytrade are developing their own crypto derivatives and looking to do more.Tom really can see where the market is going.

Oxford nanopore (private entity) again.Woodford is missing out there on the ipo, unlike ip group.i did hear Woodford is planning on getting back into the game sometime though.Shame if he left, he is good.He does need better lawyers and comms next time.

Woodford... shame he was forced to sell due to his fund's structure.His investor's screwed themselves over unknowingly just at the wrong time due to withdrawals unfortunately imo.We had all that discussion over at Orph a year ago with folk wondering and worrying about no uplift in sp despite volume and pipeline prospects.

If government announce it all limits are off i agree.Velocys went crazy last year due to a mention by government on the box.

These type of companies aren't making regular profits... yet.None of them aren't valued on trad p/e multiples.They are valued on sales multiples, which hopefully will eventually translate into p/e multiples.

Agreed, I doubt they will go bankrupt if they don't have current huge liabilities.I'm not sure how often they have raised recently but fear of future dilution always plays a part in current valuation with growing businesses valued on 'non traditional metrics.Then again like you said, Amazon reinvested alot of money especially in the earlier years that didn't show up on the balance sheet as earnings.One to watch maybe.

Looking at the shareholder info, last updated Feb this year on the sclp website, Redmile is just below the mandatory takeover offer level and combined with Vulpes' holdings would breach the takeover threshold?

Calculus Capital seem to be a longterm tax avoidance inheritance EIS play outfit afaik.They would want to run a balanced portfolio, i would assume, and not lose too much capital through dilution in too risky aim and venture plays or it would totally negate their purpose.

Agreed.Against natural and potential manmade genetically modified pathogens if possible too as there is a good chance covid was a wuhan lab leak still.
Well at least the vaccine sector, always a loss making business pretty much for pharma, has had a big boost in terms of financial investment finally.
It could obviously mark the investment and revenues needed finally for alot of new vaccine technology like the cancer vaccines.Perhaps this black swan event could provide the urgent capital to mark a potential revolution in pharma tech.Who knows.Alot of scientific, industrial and social revolutions happen from black swan events and venture capital relies on them on a smaller scale.The dotcom bubble helped provide some of the capital for the internet companies and growth today.
