My problem is that its clear we are controlled though , regardless of how strong the economy is , the working class need to work their butt off and there's no means of an escape, you stop working and you will lose alot , if not everything and that's what the government want.

I would say most companies have record low debt and can protect their margins through inflationary price increases.

I just think what has recently happened is just economics , and some people lose out due to bad planning and wanting what they can't afford. I have a mate who fell into the help to buy scheme , I could see it was a mistake from the start however they just wanted everything all at once , now they have to re mortgage and they will pretty much lose the house, it was daft of them but there won't be many in that situation as most have done really well out of the housing market , even more so with the inheritance on offer too from the rich granny. I think the main signal right now is employment , if masses become unemployed then it will be tough for everyone as it will just sprial out of control , however I believe we are far from that. The difference now is there is a live to work culture , and thats been the case for the last decade as most are working to better themselves with their mortgage and pensions. That's the main focus. People are actually financially savvy now , its just those who the government are bailing out with benefits at the low end who aren't.

Thing is without the reading things on the net everything would feel back to normal now. Look at interest rates through the late 90's up to 2008 , they were constantly at the 5% mark, now companies are loaded with cash and the week business's have been wiped out. Maybe this is the new norm which is actually what it was prior to the banking crash in 2008. No recession inbound as unemployment is still at record lows. Will be interesting to see how high the FED want to push rates and see their intent to actually break things.

The only way the government can spin this WFT nonsense now is to wipe it out and state the NS oilers are investing in carbon capture technology which is for the good of the country , the "profiteering" stories are tiring me out while seeing this share stuck in the doldrums ...........

Its funny how the BBC report on Exxon's just released record profits , and in the comments everyone tarnishes the North Sea oilers with the same brush ....... honestly how dense are the public in this country, none mentioning the fact the NS oilers are being taxed 75% already.... and that oil/gas are below pre war? The government have officially screwed the public over (due to being an easily led bunch) , ever since the Brexit lies , covid , and continued Ukraine excuses. In the meantime living standards are falling and theres a massive imbalance within the economy which is all by design. Strikes , and public services crippled , Food inflation , energy inflation, cost of living inflation , its all going one way and it wont come down, ever. Bankers uncapped bonuses and billionaires made richer , all while the pension age is increased for the working man. Cant quite believe this is happening before our own eyes .....

I'm not sure that's the holding percentage. I just go on market screener and the FT.com to check the institutional holders. Meryll Lynch are listed as having sold 100% , however keep popping up here with those rns's so don't know what's going on their.

The reason for the recent poor brent performance is Russia have been exporting crude at record amounts so therefor there has essentially been an oversupply in the market.

Like you have said though , the draws from the US have been promising , however I could see this share going lower as its tracking the price of brent literally. I guess worse case scenario is that brent goes to $60 and this share will be around 170p at a guess. For the sp to halve to 117p brent will have to be $37 which I hope is highly unlikely but just goes to show the lack of downside risk from here.

The worst ramp i have seen was when i first came across this board , cant remember who but one guy posted , "im not even bothered by the WFT , with the share buy backs in place the share price will only rebound back to these levels anyway" (with SP at 400p) . Wow what a statement that was !

FCF in the results wont look too good at all this year , just hoping the government are going to cough up for the viking ccs soon , we should also see the full details regarding the deal with BP too ! Lets face it , theres going to be infintite buyers if this SP was to see new lows in the 220's. There cant be much of a downside risk from these levels (im not a paid ramper fyi ;-) )

Id be quite happy with a $80 brent average. Right now that is that we are seeing so far this year ! No need for sleepless nights just yet ;-)

No doubt we will see Brent recover over night. Least we know Harbour are in it for the long run with such amazing discoveries of much needed Oil and Gas !
