S82, everything about being a successful private investor is 1/ know your company (this includes making value judgements about the psychometrics of the BOD) I do not think you have bothered. 2/ Be patient in executing orders on the buy side (the last piece of drivel I remember from you was 'topping up' at 18p, I may be incorrect and happy to redact. 3/ Understand probabilities, this is THE priority risk in exploring/appraising hydrocarbon fields: are you happy with that concept?
You definitely have patience though S, there is no denying that you might be a successful investor at all.
As for your clinical opinion all I would suggest is study a basket of E and P's from IPO to liquidation or investor toxic debt/equity swap and ask yourself this question, is it better to be mentally flexible and 'blow with the wind' somewhat or end up like a hapless GKP case holding a purse of 2p coins made from a healthy savings fund in the tens of thousands?
You might be more barking than me, who knows? certainly more of rigidly buttoned up thinker.
