You fail to say that investors went without a dividend through the pandemic of 18 months, and now dividends have returned at half of the dividend amount before the pandemic. You also fail to mention that BT workers have already had a £1,500 pay increase back in April. You sound just like the union. Have you been brainwashed?

Bring the strike on, BT will save money during the strike and also assess who they can do without going forward. Some of the deadwood had better watch out, their number may be up, far sooner than they think.

BT employee's would have something to complain about if Drahi was in charge, they will then realise how well off they currently are. It will be bring your own loo roll to work.

BERLIN, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Deutsche Telekom (DTEGn.DE) is weighing options for its 12% stake in Britain's BT (BT.L) and expects movement within the next 12 months, CEO Tim Hoettges said on Tuesday.

"We have a lot of optionality in the BT business. It's too early to make a decision. We are entertaining all options," Hoettges told a news briefing.

BT is at the centre of speculation after telecoms and cable company Altice acquired a 12.1% stake in June, saying at the time that it did not intend to launch a takeover offer. Deutsche Telekom holds the BT stake in its pension fund.

"I would say that in the next 12 months something is going to happen with the asset because the shareholder side is changing rapidly," Hoettges said in response to a question from an analyst.

I would have to agree. You will recall that Deutsche Telekom said last year that they have plans this year regarding their 12% holdings in BT, I wonder what they are? We then have Drahi holding his 18%. Drahi isn't a stupd man, he must have expected the governments stance on BT.

BT's mistake was going in too high at 8%, they should have offered 4%, then increased it to 8% and everyone would have been happy.

The BT BOD's should offer BT employee's a 11% inflation increase, but next year when inflation drops back so does the increase, and when infation drops back to the expected 2% in 2 years time so does the 11% increase. No they wouldn't want that they want their cake and eat it too.

8% increase, what more do they want, jam on it? Inflation is expected to drop next year, will the 8% increase drop? No. I think that the BOD's are being very generous. If emplyees want more, move jobs.

BT shareholders/owners went without a dividend throughout the pandemic, now the dividends have been restarted at half of what the payment was previously. Funny how the union didn't tell it's members this.

Good post ExBTandProud. Reassuring to read that you also have the same thoughts as myself regarding BT becoming a cash cow in future. The patient BT shareholder will be handsomely rewarded from 2025. IMO.

The union claims that BT "gave away £761m" in dividends to its shareholders. BT didn't give away this amount, it rewarded its owners who went without during the pandemic. The union also claims that workers working on the "front line". For goodness sake, anyone would think that they are on the front line in the war in Ukraine.
