Agreed. Only way to invest is DYOR and make your own decisions because its your hard earned cash at risk, the Questor who favoured Next over BT, will Questor apologise and reimburse any cash lost on his recommendations? No he most certainly will not. I wouldn't touch any retail, it's dying on its feet.

Tony, I must admit to knowing next to nothing about Next, yes I will take your word for it that are a well run company, I just think that the high street is dying with the likes of Next & M&S will not be around in another 100 years time, while I think that BT will be. I've nothing against Next and wish them well for the future.

Agreed 5eights, I was hoping yesterday that Goldaman Sachs would reduced their ITV shareholding further, now down to 9.88%, this is now below the 9.9% that they hold on behalf of Liberty Global. Who is acquiring GS's shares since August when GS held over 21% on ITV?

It certainly looks like something is going on. It was reported back in May that analysts had said that at less than 192p a share, there would be asset strippers or a management buyout, in other words a bidding war. watch this space.

BT will be here in 100 years time, not sure that Next will be, I know who my money would be on.

He will try to convince anyone to sell to try and move the share price down to his dream purchase price of 50p, he's missed that boat, ITV have already been to that price yet the trading floor expert missed his chance. He will tell you that ITV COE McCall is not up to the job, that ITV are finished, yet he want's to buy at 50p. The guy's a fraud, only a fool would listen to him and act on his advice. Tom talks with forked tongue.

You guess right Tom, no I haven't worked on trading floors. However, you don't have had to work on a trading floors to be successful at investing on the stock market. I'm not an expert, far from it, I don't claim to be, I'm also not one to boast, let's just say I've been very successful over my 36 years to date, my last couple of years have been tough, but a lot of other investors are in the same boat. I believe an investor will be more successful that a day trader, who I put in the category as a gambler. Each to their own, if it works for you keep doing it, if it's not broken, don't fix it.

Hollamatronic, you may recall a news article last week regarding a vaccine that was reported to be starting to be used in hospitals in the UK from this week on the 3rd November, it said that it would only be used on the ill in hospital suffering from Covid, that the government was wanting to keep it quiet because of protesters against the vaccine. Anyway, reasons to be hopeful regarding a potential end game to this dreadful virus. Fingers crossed.

Thomas, you don't have to read it, you're not even a ITV shareholder. At least the chatter as you call it is relevant to ITV, and not Shell, or Brexit. All opinions regarding ITV are welcome.

Goldman Sachs current ITV shareholding stands at 10.07% previously 10.97%, down from August high of 21.29%. It will be interesting to see if this holding drops below 9.9% that GS hold on behalf of Liberty Global. I've thought for a while that someone is building a stake in ITV, yet not disclosing their hand. I agree with 5eights there are ways around this. If true it may be disclosed if they were to acquire Liberty's 9.9% holding.

Too true Fleccy, my only explanation is that we are at the mercy of the big boys and their power with algorithmic trading. I agree with you at some point things will change for BT, but not until they decide. Improving financial results will have to change opinions of BT going forward. I just look at the undervalued assets of BT, this makes me think that I'm right and the market isn't. Time will tell who's proved right in the end. I'm willing to wait it out, I'm not expecting anything until 2025 at the earliest, any recovery in the share price before this I will take it as a bonus.
