The old saying of "a fool and his money are soon parted" is so appropriate whilst reading these forums at times of falling share prices. These boards are full of Tom's of the world, the so called experts with hindsight telling everyone that company X is rubbish, spreading negativity trying to influence panic, when indeed the best cause of action is to do nothing, sit on your hands, ask yourself why did I invest in company X in the first place. You will usually come back to thinking that your original decision to invest was the correct one. I'm happy to hold on to ITV, who are a well run company, ride out all this negativity soon Brexit and this dreadful virus will be a distant memory, the market will come around to my way of thinking at some point.

I'm guessing Tom that you only put the same equity from the sale of ITV into Shell? If so you are in for far less percentage than you were with ITV by about 10%. IMHO, you would have a far batter chance of recouping your losses staying in ITV. But each to their own.

Yet more untruths Tom, this year to date ITV's ne debt has fallen £123m down from £927m in 2018 to £804m.
If you take a look at the link enclosed Tom you will see that ITV's net debt is expected to fall further over the next 2 years to £517m. So ITV don't have a debt problem far from it. Keep scrambling Tom, you are trying to scare people again Tom with more of your untruths. Shame on you.

I think that at the next FTSE100 shuffle in December ITV may find that it's relegation to the FTSE250 may be short lived. Another positive for holding ITV. Any potential ITV predator would be advised to act now, ITV won't be on sale for ever, at a bargain half price. Now that would be a nice Christmas present.

I'm not quite sure why people get confused with the closing price? Always go with the UT and forget what any website reports, it's the only way.

A vaccine will help the market and ITV recover to where the share price was before the virus struck. Anyone listening to the likes of Tom would have sold out at 50p. The all-consuming question where ITV is concerned is what has happened to corporate advertising spend. Advertising spend fell 43% in the second quarter, and while we know online advertising has recovered more recently, whether that extends to more traditional advertising venues is as yet unclear.

We are more hopeful about the performance of ITV’s Studios business, which produces both scripted and unscripted content for ITV and third party broadcasters at home and abroad. While the first lockdown meant many productions were put on hold, we suspect it will also have seen viewers burn through back-catalogue material, increasing demand for new content. ITV will be hoping that boosts activity going forwards.

Unfortunately a second wave of lockdowns around the world won’t be doing the group any favours. And honestly we think these results could be pretty difficult.
