Bielsaball2021.... "Interesting comments guys. Just out of interest, at what price would you consider to be a good takeover offer?"
Hi BB, I enclose a recent article from last month regarding the valuation of ITV that you may find of interest. Link and part of article below.
https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/business/in-a-land-where-content-is-king-all-eyes-are-on-the-future-of-itv-studios-3306941
"It is difficult to put a value on ITV studios, but if we consider that Hasbro acquired Entertainment One almost two years ago in a deal worth ÂŁ3.3bn, about 16X earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA), and ITV, according to its most recent annual report, shows that ITV studios alone had EBITDA of ÂŁ152m. Using
16X EBITDA, just ITV Studios should be worth ÂŁ2.4bn alone. For the whole ITV group adjusted EBITDA was ÂŁ573m, which on 16X EBITDA would give it an implied valuation of ÂŁ9.17bn, yet the current value of ITV is ÂŁ5.3bn."
Based on the above valuation the whole of ITV would be valued at 227.82p per share, excluding debt. At this moment in time I would welcome any bid, any valuation would help get the ball started. I think if someone was to bid it may well lead to others joining in the bun fight, example Morrisons. I personally would be happy achieve 170p per share, but it may go for a much higher price. JMO of cause.
