Would have to be someone with VERY deep pockets. The current market cap is £55bn so not going to go for any less than £70bn.

Sompo are definitely trying to grow in the UK so wouldn't be surprised if they made a move.

Generali are one of Italy's biggest insurers and are frequently linked with big moves into the UK market although their footprint over here is relatively small.

With Hiscox having undertaking a complete review of the business following the covid losses, but the shareprice still undervaluing the company, the timing would make sense.

This is a cracking entry point for someone who is happy to hold and forget all about it for a year or two.

Not unusual for there to be a delay of a day or 2 for a company that is based outside the UK.

The Pru buyback is equivalent to 8% of the total market cap and is much bigger than even the most optomistic forecasts. LGENs buyback was small and underwhelming to say the least.

I'm fully expecting another buyback to be announced shortly. Probably alongside the Q2 results on 24 July but maybe before.

Hoping that we can get over 700p and stay over it with this little burst over the last few days.
