Kooba I don’t think people were wrong to pick up on the $10 but whatever happened the discount of a settlement was never discussed anywhere to my knowledge. The value of time and money makes perfect sense to me now and perhaps that’s why I’m rather more relaxed and sanguine about recent events than others. I’d have loved to become an overnight millionaire but didn’t really expect it to happen. On balance have you ever read a headline about PI’s regularly becoming overnight millionaires? I prefer the longer strategy I invested for in the first place.

So is it the companies fault that they didn’t mention lower models or discounted settlement values? Perhaps. Is it punishable? Doubtful. We just have to learn from it.

These boards don’t influence matters on a day to

day basis but if expectations run unchecked they could (and evidently did) cause a reaction on the release of news [the settlement] because everything being discussed was about multiples of everything without ever recognising the other potential outcomes.

It’s the same on every share chat board across various sectors particularly early tech or fledgling oil companies where people hope to beat the system and become overnight millionaires; it’s because we are inherently optimistic and by the fact we are here also likely to have a certain amount of dare I say devil shall care attitude to investing…..for some it’s an addiction akin to gambling, for others it’s a serious long term investment strategy.

Because of all the different personalities, motivations etc then things can get skewed at the wrong time in the wrong direction and it takes time to rebalance and reassess.

I’m in the long term camp. I’m frustrated by the likes of TG2D on his crusades. I’m ducking out of this forum for a while because it’s been devalued by the new arrivals from the other place.

…..until something worthwhile pops to ‘react’ to - then Jim Henson may reappear like a phoenix or miss piggy.

The market rarely reacts as we hope or expect. The price rose dramatically in expectation of a large award because of some of the over exuberance displayed here and the other BB which is entirely predictable. An RNS was required to pour water on the fire, as it happened it went out and only embers remain but like the fabulous bird perhaps Nanoco will be reborn from the ashes of its earlier life.

The board weighed up the risks of losing at trial, a low award (lower than the offer) or a high award and the commensurate appeal process and associated costs and residual risk and made a decision in line with their responsibilities to PROTECT our money not as you imply, the opposite. The fact you remain incapable of understanding all of this when put together in context is precisely why you’re still so vexed - you simply can’t lack the acuity to comprehend it.
