Sharvey, I cant answer your questions and even if I did they'd be open to conjecture and possibly ridicule. What I'm not advocating is that instead we continue to **** into the atmosphere, the rivers and seas and not bother doing anything about it.
Senseman is 100% correct, uncontrolled population growth is the crux of this as along with it is the inevitable human exploitation of our natural resources and the spewing out of the after effects be that CO2, plastics in the seas, Nox etc and unless addressed will (if you follow it through to it's logical conclusion) mean we eventually exhaust all the natural habitats and resources and fill the environment with pollution.
Now even to me to me that sounds unlikely as we'll start to die off long before then and that's hundreds or thousands of years hence but at some point, unless we change, the world will not sustain our activities. I think that is undeniable although no doubt someone will try and deny it.
In my view I'd prefer we try and act before then and create a balance rather than going full tilt towards the inevitable.
