RNS and Edison24 Mar 2022 08:19
Reading the RNS and the research note again it's clear that although it's easy to conclude that the new package is only worth a couple of hundred £k I suspect its value will be higher.
the RNS states Nanoco has "signed a further agreement with its important European electronics customer (the "Customer") for the delivery of an enhanced and scaled up version of its technology." They key words here being "SCALED UP"
As with most RNS's they can often be written and read ambiguously. What does "scaled up" infer? Double the last package? 10x, 100x 10000x?? We don't know but the Edison note suggests it's significant.
Edison is a proxy voice piece for Nanoco. Edison is describing a scenario where "Deployment by a major mobile
phone company in a key handset model could potentially generate c £15–20m
annual revenues working a single five-day shift, while deployment in a more niche
application, such as virtual reality (VR) glasses, would generate lower revenues,
but is likely to catalyse take-up by other customers"
As I said, all of this is quite ambiguous. The application may be VR or it may be Mobile phones or it could be something else but Edison wrote this I suspect with guidance. It may not be that we can expect the c £15-20m this year at all (and it might never arrive) but whatever is happening the narrative has developed and the expectations of commercialisation are the strongest they have ever been in my opinion and it seems Edisons.
And this is all outside of Samsung where Edison believes much of Nanoco's value lies.
Exciting times.
