Regarding a settlement…..that will be under NDA, however it can’t be hidden for ever as would appear in the Y/E accounts I would think. Anyone else have a view on this?

For clarity do you mean the QD’s that are being used by Samsung in their premium televisions, or the QD’s that Apple were satisfied with the quality of or the ones that are being further developed by STM just so we know which one(a) it is(are) that you think isn’t any good?

Your calculations are out of date and reflective of only the low case with no consideration for a license agreement .

The numbers in the high case are truly eye watering and for that reason unlikely of course.

BBD I am of the same view. I believe a settlement is now the most likely outcome to avoid reputational damage. I say this after reading that the construct of the patents is robust and unlikely to be overturned no matter how many attempts are made at appeal trials which will likely only increase the potential damages as sales continue.

Might I suggest we all tweet/share this RNS with @business (this is bloomberg) and @Reuters to see if they pick up from the noise the significance of these findings. There was coverage by Reuters in 2020 when Nanoco initiated proceedings against Samsung so there is a follow up piece potentially. I appreciate that Nanoco's PR could be doing the same thing but the more the merrier!

Today's share price action will be about people taking their seats for the next round. This could be a pre-trial settlement or for the long haul. The narrative from the company is one thing but it needs the Bloomberg and Reuters' of this world to clearly state that Samsung have been using patented technology in their high end TV's for >7 years and that Nanoco [potentially] are due substantial damages for lost revenue in the US courts and globally.

There will be a few times on this journey that the temptation to take profits will cross my mind but like you Morbox I'm in this for the long haul. I plan to retire from this when I hit 55 and selling out before the SP hits £5 doesn't mean I can't retire, it just means I possibly couldn't have the E39 M5 weekend car to tinker on I want in addition to my daily runner!
