I note peoples tone changing. It needn’t and only changes if people change it. I’d encourage that not to happen even if people have history. What matters is the here and now.

The Times article 4th June suggested a figure of “upwards of $500m” USD based on chat in “the City”. Presumably this is an educated ‘guess’ and likely before expenses.

There are so many permutations here and trust me when I say this, I've done the maths on many of them; but the only sensible calculations should come from the basis of the low end in terms of expectation, and keep some hope aside for anything more. That way we can all avoid potential disappointment and celebrate what the result is accordingly, assuming it's positive of course.

This board is reminding me of a small cap oil Co waiting on drilling results from a wildcat well….let’s wait for the test results!

Different levels of expenditure will require different levels of authorisation in most organisations and in Samsung I suspect we are talking about something at a $ level that will require Samsung board approval and nothing less.

Before that the lawyers will be going back and forth with some senior case appointed delegate in Samsung. If a decision is arrived at that recommends an out of court settlement then and only then will it be added to the order of business for the board to consider. The board wont meet often. When they do meet they could reject the initial suggestion and it goes back to the lawyers and we rinse and repeat until a decision is reached and voted in favour.
I suspect this is what will happen and at the moment the lawyers are likely still be in discussions.
I suspect the whole process to settle will take months but the earlier than anticipated court case will focus minds.

Clearly some taking profit. And why not. But for me it's now about holding as many shares as I can 'afford' or accumulate for when the real impactful news hits; that is news of commercial orders and/or some outcome on Samsung. If I took profit today and the SP 10 bags the day after I'd kick myself. Appreciate that my risk profile differs from others of course.
